The very first post – 6 January, 2006

Well, having ranted and raved often enough on other people’s Blogs, I decided it was time to give them a fixed target to hit. Hence, my first experiment at actually having my own Blog. I have absolutely no idea whether anyone will ever actually read this or not. Heck – I don’t even know if I have anything useful or original to say that anyone would WANT to read.

This Blog is a work in progress. I do not yet know where it is going or what it will look like in the end.

Welcome to the blogosphere Gaius Arbo. Having read your blogs for some time now (I’m from the future you see, September of 2006 actually), I can answer a few of your questions.

Some people do read your blog…obviously I am one of them. A co-worker stumbled onto your haven of conservatism and I’ve been hooked on your rhetorical drivel ever since.

“Heck – I don’t even know if I have anything useful or original to say that anyone would WANT to read.”
A three part statement requires a three part answer. I would say no, you don’t have anything useful or original to say. That you reference wing-nuts like Hugh Hewitt and Michelle “I’m a dirty racist, but I’m hot” Malkin is proof. You recycle the same garbage as many other conservative blogs, and use “the big guns” (Michelle’s being bigger than Hugh’s of course) to drive the point home. However, I DO WANT TO READ IT. So, the short answer would be, “No, no, Yes.”

As for this blog being a work in progress…please let me know when the progress begins. I would like to be there for the birth of conservative progress.

One could pretty easily argue that if I say nothing useful or original, you’re not too discriminating in what you want to read.
