Events in Nigeria
Judith Apter Klinghoffer has a post up on HNN about Nigeria. It is not very encouraging. Appeasement of Muslim extremists has been interpreted as weakness on the Christian’s part. This has, in turn, escalated violence and murder.
Appeasement has never worked against violent extremists. Our media should be aware of this by now. But they are either blind or outright deluding themselves. Or both.

You may recall that Nigerian Muslims were offended by the Miss World beauty pageant slated to be held in Nigeria in 2002.
So of course they started butchering Christians then too.
Nigeria provides a perfect example that Muslims will find someone to be offended about as the excuse they need to kill Christians, or anyone else who fails to acede to their demands.

THe sadest thing is, Nigeria was a fairly prosperous country when the British gave up colonial rule there. It has slipped so far into barbarism now.
