No Car Is Safe!

There are confirmed reports that a pair of condors has begun nesting in the Big Sur region of California. Although experts cannot see into the nest, the large bird’s behavior indicates that they are guarding an egg.

The non-profit group that has been trying to save the giant California condors has been releasing them into the wild since 1997. I remember hearing about it when the group collected all the remaining free condors and began trying to reestablish them through a captive breeding program. At the time, I honestly did not believe they would ever get the bird back out into the wild. I’m glad that I was wrong.

Not that I’d want to walk underneath one.
