Penraker On Immigration
I think Penraker has it right on this issue. The Republicans are in enormous danger right now of fracturing over immigration. We need to do something to stem the flow of illegals. Granting what amounts to amnesty to people who march through our streets demanding that they be allowed to be Mexicans rather than Americans is a disaster politically. Average, middle of the road Americans are not happy about this at all.
Pay attention, Republicans, pay attention.

Although there are reports on TV of an agreement in the Senate on an immigration bill, I’ll just wait to hear the details, and to see what comes out of the Conference Committee with the House before I jump on any bandwagons.
But, the first step must be to secure the border. Do that, do that first, then we can discuss what’s to be done with illegals already here. That’s my take on it: Border Security First.

The compromise I am hearing about says tht there is what amounts to a de facto amnesty.
We’ll see what comes out of conference.
