We may have to start a new "Bad Samaritan" category just for items like this.
A German woman found a wallet containing over $1,200 (in Euros, of course) and decided to do the honest thing and return it to it's rightful owner. However, she also decided that she deserved a reward for doing the right thing. Which is a bit self-serving, but still understandable. But this is where she really went off the rails; she called the owner and told the man she would return the wallet only if he gave her the reward.
Somehow, the irony of committing extortion to get a reward for doing right missed this woman entirely.
But as we like to say here at Blue Crab Boulevard, two wrongs don't make a right. Three lefts do.
