Here’s Some More Pulitzer Material

The Washington Post will be in the early running for next year's Pulitzer with this kind of ground-breaking, fearless reporter on their team.

During a briefing led by White House spokesman Scott McClellan as President Bush was traveling to New Orleans, Louisiana, the Washington Post's Jim VandeHei asked why the White House televisions always seemed to be tuned to Fox News and if it was possible to have them tuned instead to CNN.

"It's come to my attention that there's been requests — this is a serious question — to turn these TVs onto a station other than Fox, and that those have been denied," VandeHei told McClellan, who is soon to be replaced by former Fox anchor and self-described conservative Tony Snow.

That's the way to speak truth to power, Jim. This is American journalism at it's best! He also complained that the televisions were purchased at taxpayer expense, therefore they should be tuned to whatever the press wanted.

My kids are more mature about deciding what to watch. I think this demonstrates how fundamentally unserious an awful lot of reporting is today.

By the way, it only took a few minutes to get the channel changed.
