Anyone who visits here more than once knows I am fairly tough on a lot of the news media. I have a low opinion of many so-called professionals in the field of journalism. Of course, they have a fairly low opinion of critics like me, so I guess it's mutual. But I read stories like this and wonder what in the world these people are thinking.
Reporting stories like this (and you'll note I'm not quoting it) do absolutely no good. They are fear-mongering and present a helpful how-to guide for people who haven't thought of this particular trick yet. This is just plain irresponsible. If someone learns how to do this from the story, will the press take responsibility? Of course not, they'll pat themselves on the back for their timely warning.
You'd think AFP would be a little more circumspect considering the precarious position France is in right now.
