Colorado Governor Calls For Ward Churchill To Resign
Ward Churchill has been found to have committed plagiarism, fabrication and falsification of material and was disrespectful of American Indian traditions in his writings by a review panel at Colorado University. Apparently all five members found these allegations to be true, but the board differed in recommendations for punishment. Three called for a five year suspension without pay while the others called for two years. The majority believed that Churchill could, in fact, be terminated.
The Governor of Colorado has called on Churchill to resign. Which would be honorable, considering his serious breech of academic standards. Of course, that means Churchill will refuse to do it.
A guy who fakes a native American background has no honor.

Carry On: I hope he DOES get his comeuppance. But don’t hold your breath. Three of the five committee members recommended suspension without pay for five years. The other two recommended suspension without pay for two years.
So basically, this fraud, this EVIL man can go on the lecture circuit the next two years, write a book or two and live off the fools that lap up the America hating demagougery he peddles and go right back to teaching earning a six figure? salaray for life, all paid for by the tax payers of Colorado.

The University does have grounds to fire him now even though the panel recommended otherwise. Let’s hope they get some spine and do it.

Yes, what Ward Churchill said about the victims of September 11 is offensive. Yes, if the academic charges against him are true he should lose his teaching position.
On the other hand, presidential candidates aren’t seeking his endorsement, unlike the man who said this: “God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve.”
You would think that anyone seeking the Presidency would run far, far away from someone who would blame the September 11 attacks on us, but no, John McCain went to speak at Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University.
Unbelievable.

If you hadn’t noticed, I’m not a McCain fan.
By Juggler, Wednesday, 17 May , 2006 @ 9:12 am
But if he’s the Republican nominee, will you vote for him? How about other Republicans who speak at LU?
By Gaius, Wednesday, 17 May , 2006 @ 9:17 am
Depends on the challenger
By Juggler, Wednesday, 17 May , 2006 @ 10:03 am
Ah, so currying the favor of someone who blamed Americans for the September 11 attacks is not a deal breaker for you.
By Gaius, Wednesday, 17 May , 2006 @ 10:11 am
Juggler, you continue to assume I am a Republican.
By Diva, Wednesday, 17 May , 2006 @ 10:17 am
John McCain is the Republican version of John Kerry - the say anything to get elected candidate- he will never ever see the party nomination.
As for Jerry Falwell yes he is a nut and conservatives disavow anything he says but at least conservatives have the moral courage to point out the nuts in their party. When will the Left disavow the nuts like Michael Moore, Cynthia McKinney, Howard Dean (DNC Chair?!)etc…
By Juggler, Wednesday, 17 May , 2006 @ 10:24 am
Diva,
Which conservatives have denounced Falwell?
By Juggler, Wednesday, 17 May , 2006 @ 1:23 pm
Diva,
Still waiting….
By Juggler, Wednesday, 17 May , 2006 @ 2:48 pm
Okay, no takers on that.
How about this one:
How many conservatives have denounced Ann Coulters calls for “physical intimidation” of liberals or her statement that her only regret with Tim McVeigh was that he didn’t blow up the New York Times building?
How many conservatives denounced Pat Robertson’s statement that it would a good idea to blow up the State Department building?
How many conservatives have denounced Michael Savage’s call to drop a nuclear bomb on a random Middle-Eastern city?
By Gaius, Wednesday, 17 May , 2006 @ 3:08 pm
Juggler, knock it off. Not one of those people has ever even been talked about here except by you. Drop it.
By Juggler, Wednesday, 17 May , 2006 @ 5:12 pm
Exactly my point, Gaius. They’re all conservatives that have said objectionable things, but they all get a pass.
But then, maybe you agree with what they’ve said.
By Gaius, Wednesday, 17 May , 2006 @ 5:20 pm
Drop. It.
