  1. Blackhawk says:

What if it was stone crab…

  2. Gaius says:

    Preston is equal opportunity!

  3. Black Jack says:

A Feast Fit for a King:

A bushel of Number 1 Jimmy crabs, well spiced and piping hot from the steamer, fresh picked corn on the cob, some potato chips, lots of ice cold beer, with plenty of time and several good friends around the table.

  4. Black Jack says:

On the peculiar habits of the blue crab, and the Chesapeake Bay Watermen who love them, I recommend William W Warner’s “Beautiful Swimmers.” It’s subtitled, “Watermen, Crabs, and the Chesapeake Bay,” and won a Pulitzer back in 1976 when the prize still actually meant something.

It’s a rare treat, the Miami Herald said, “This is a book of rare grace and meditation, one that ranges from adventurer to zoology, with so small measure of mystery and history.”

If you can make time for it, the rewards are both considerable and delightful, not to mention quite educational.
