It Is Well You Wear Your Tinfoil Hats

For the awesome power of Republicans will smite the very heavens. No, really. Ask Bill Clinton. He actually told people in a speech that Republicans cause hurricanes.

As Tropical Storm Alberto threatened to strengthen into the ninth hurricane in 22 months to affect Florida, former President Clinton predicted Monday that Republican environmental policies will lead to more severe storms.

"It is now generally recognized that while Al Gore and I were ridiculed, we were right about global warming," Clinton said at a fundraiser for the Florida Democratic Party. "It's a serious problem. It's going to lead to more hurricanes."

Me, I plan on buying up some land in Illinois to build beach front starter mansions on when the seas finally get there.

Come on, Bill. Tone it down. If you were so right, why didn't you actually, you know, do something while you were in office?

Damn. For all these years, I thought butterflies flapping their wings in the Sahara caused hurricanes. Must have been GOP butterflies. Or penguins. I guess that depends on what the definition of ‘hurricanes’ happens to be. Now, my sister and brother in law, who live in Tampa, refered to Alberto as a ‘non-issue’. Wonder if they meant big Al G and his new greenie side kick Bill-Kato-san?

What a dork. I’ve lived in coastal Florida for the last 15 years and know full well that hurricanes (like all weather) occur in cycles this just happens to be the point in the cycle where we have more of them - too bad Clinton didn’t bother researching that little nugget of truth. Global warming, really.

Oh, one more thing Clinton might like to consider - he was president when hurricane Floyd formed and that was a monster storm that thankfully avoided landfall near the quaint little island where we live. If it had made landfall the entire island would have been wiped off the face of the planet. But as I recall I didn’t hear any doomsday Cassandra type speeches from President Clinton about that hurricane or any others that preceded it in the eight years he held office.

Clinton is just like that old high school football player who keeps reliving his glory days. He hates being irrelevant so he will open his mouth and spew forth whatever precious little “clintonism” that he thinks will get him some camera time. I bet that he doesn’t really care about anything other than, well, Bill Clinton. He’s the say anything to get attention president.

You are so right about the Tin Foil Hats - that should be the official hat of the Democrats. The democrats are becoming the conspiracy theory party - most of them truly believe the election was stolen with the help of Diebold, that 9/11 was a Bush strategy to occupy Iraq and now we have Bill Clinton proposing a weather conspiracy hatched by the evil republicans. And they are puzzeled as to why they can’t win elections. Hello?!!!
