US Military spokesman Major General William Caldwell confirmed that the two bodies found earlier appear to be those of the two missing soldiers.

At a press conference in Baghdad, U.S. military spokesman Maj. Gen. William Caldwell confirmed that the remains, found late Monday by U.S. troops, were believed to be those of Pfc. Kristian Menchaca, 23, of Houston, and Pfc. Thomas L. Tucker, 25, of Madras, Ore.

Caldwell said the cause of death was "undeterminable" and that DNA tests would be conducted to verify the identities.

My heart goes out to the two families. I would be nice if the media would leave them alone right now, too. Let them get through this ordeal without making it worse for them, please.

My heart is broken, and my blood pressure boiling.

Being that Pct. Menchaca is from my hometown of Houston, I’ll proudly ride with the Patriot Guard Riders (if invited by the family) to pay our final respects to this American son, his family, and his community.

Each Soldier’s funeral that I have attended with the PGR is difficult. This one will be especially so. But it’s important that we go, to show our support to his family; to show them that normal American’s took note of their son’s life and of his death, and are extremely thankful for their ultimate sacrifice.

I agree, but that’s like asking leeches to not suck blood. Actually, it’s exactly like asking leeches to not suck blood.

My comment was directed to Gaius’ request for the press to leave the families alone. I didn’t see Robbie’s comment when I posted mine and I don’t want it to appear I was responding to him. Robbie, the Patriot Guard Riders are heroes in their own right. You guys are doing a good and heartfelt thing.
