Gunday Evening
I haven't done a Gunday in a really long time, so here's one for a really slow Sunday. Smith & Wesson SW40VE in .40S&W caliber.

Hm…
I hope no civilian or off-duty officer carries it around.
Though it’s nice, a disfunctional one could be good for home decoration maybe.

I'm licensed (and trained) to carry a concealed weapon, Roland.By Roland Hesz, Monday, 3 July , 2006 @ 7:30 am
I know you are licenced.
Unfortunately, anyone can get a licence.
Oh, and I don’t have any problems with the licence.
I have problems with people carrying guns.

And I know, you probably won’t shoot anyone just for the fun of it - or at least I hope.
Still.. Concealed weapons in my eyes are assassin weapons. Hidden, sneaky, not having any use only to kill someone.
They are not seen, thus has no effect of deterring anyone from “looking for trouble”.
If you don’t use it in case of trouble - why carry it?
If you use it - either you shoot first, or you are lucky that you are still alive.

That is not true, Roland. There are any number of reasons why a person is denied a permit. Conviction of a crime, mental problems, restraining order issued against the person, etc. all disqualify a person. You also have minimum training standards you have to meet. Some states in the US are impossible to get a CCW in, even if they have a law allowing them.

I shoot paper targets for fun. There are many times when merely showing a gun has stopped a crime, Roland. I guy I knew only had to rack the slide to make some muggers run away - he did not have to fire.
It’s funny, but the sheriff’s deputies where I live love legally armed citizens. They regard them as allies and there have been several instances where an armed citizen has helped a deputy out.

Oh yes, then he goes to the corner and buys one.
Like a new ID or anything else.
Or his buddies got one from the right people, after a quiet, friendly dinner.
And it will be all “legit”.
But I really don’t care about licenses.
I care about guns. Noone should have a gun. Fair enough, I think.

If you show it it’s not concealed.
I knew some people trying the same.
Showing the gun, rack the slide.
Had nice funnerals, with some people, crying family, and a nice engrave on their stone.
Problem is, when a citizen can have legally a gun, a criminal can have five.
Armed criminals and armed citizens go hand in hand.
No citizen was allowed a gun here. There were no armed criminals.
Now we can have guns like you, and we have criminals with guns, hand-grenades maybe even T34-s.
It wasn’t a good change I think.
