Absolutely Disgusting
RedState has a video from the DCCC that is absolutely obscene.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has a new fundraising pitch going out. It uses September 11th and our troops to raise money. But, instead of using those images to show Democrats would be tougher on terrorists and make America more secure, it uses pictures of dead soldiers in their flag draped coffins and the subtle threat of harm from September 11th to make a threat to the GOP. See the outrage for yourself here.
In an email from Rahm Emanuel, he links to a new video from the DCCC that shows the flag draped coffins of American soldiers and a standing gun supporting the helmet of one of our fallen — images of dead American soldiers — to raise money for the DCCC.
There is more. But that's enough for me. This is a foul, foul thing to do. It is foul beyond belief. The utter lack of common human decency is appalling.

You are right.
No political party should use the soldiers for campaigning, in absolutely no way, neither as martyrs nor as victims. Neither dead, nor alive.
Leave them out of the whole thing.
Leave the whole war out of it.
One thing that disturbs in the post you quoted: Would it be allright if the video showed american soldiers marching victoriously through Baghdad, and standing above corpses of insurgents? It implies that it would.
And that disturbs me. For that would be tastless and disgusting too….

It’s wrong to use images of the dead for political purposes. They belong to their families then, not to the nation.

I do agree.
But I think using living soldiers is wrong too.
The army should be left out of the whole political gameplay.

There’s a fine line on the living soldiers. For example, under our constitution, the President is the Commander in Chief of the armed forces. So it is not at all improper for him to be seen with the troops.

Of course, it is not improper.
As Commander in Chief.
Not as a politician panting for votes.
To pull the army in the election campaign?
Nah…
