I have done commenting here because, from many of your posts that I have read, you seem to be well-rounded, strong and clear in your positions, and interested in observing and engaging in the world we all share.

In my view, using dismissive labels to attack someone who sees things from another perspective is rather childish and wimpish. Anyway, thank you, Gaius, for the times you let me have my say on your blog and thank you for being strong and mature enough to be able to disagree without resorting to ugly taunts.

Speaking of hypocrisy, what is a thinking peson to make of the bizarre logic of Israelis dropping leaflets warning southern Lebanese to leave, then promptly bombing the very roads and fuel depots that would provide those trapped families with the pavement and fuel to escape the killing fields?

We are witnessing a genocide under the guise of ‘defensive war’. The ‘permanent peace’ desired by the biggest guns is the ‘permanent death’ of as many people as possible. Somehow this reminds me of the pseudo-sportsmen who think they are macho to go shoot animals trapped in ‘private hunting reserves’. Gotta feed their bloodthirst, I suppose. All that is necessary to be so ‘macho’ is to forget God’s laws and submit to Satan’s pleasures, and, oh, yes, to dismiss the humanity on the other side with some collective labeling.
