Polar Light Show
Here are pictures of some very unusual clouds, photographed by a member of the Australian government's Antarctic Division. Called nacreous clouds, they form only under fairly rare conditions, requiring very low temperatures at high altitudes along with strong winds. The sun also has to be below the observer's horizon. Just some pretty pictures of something rarely seen.

Funny you should mention the *real* reason for these clouds. MSN (I think-could have been some other site though), on their webpage earlier today, had the same pix with some “scientist” attributing them to global warming. Huh, it’s amazing how the lefties will say anything to buttress a questionable argument.

Looks as if the Aussie scientits are arguing ozone depletion. To an untrained scientic mind, it seems as if this is a separate argument from the global warming proposition put forth by the folks in my earlier comment.
