Hezbollah Doublespeak
Hassan Nasrallah has set a new benchmark for doublespeak. He says that Hezbollah would abide by the UN ceasefire but would continue to fight Israeli troops for as long as Israeli troops remain in Lebanon.
BEIRUT, Lebanon – Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah said on Saturday the militant organization would abide by the U.N. cease-fire resolution but would keep fighting as long as Israeli troops remained in southern Lebanon.
He called continued resistance to the Israel offensive "our natural right."
Absolutely awe-inspiring gall. He starts the war and complains that Israel is fighting it. He agrees to a ceasefire without actually stopping the fighting. The mind boggles.

I know why Turtle Bay cane consider this dialogue “progress,” and it fits right into the French, but WHY does Bolton-or his smarer than the planet moustache, “Regis,” put up with this utter crap decision?

Dunno.

Actually, Nasrallah’s statement is one of the few things that gives me some optimism here. As long as his thugs continue to “resist” by attacking the Israeli soldiers it gives Israel an opportunity to defend themselves by killing more Hezbollah members. Considering how slowly an international force is likely to assemble and the fact that the inept Lebanese Army is ill equipped to move its decrepit equipment south over the shattered roads/bridges – this could mean some more precious time to decimate Hezbollah.
The IDF is very tough and very dedicated. I wish they had received better leadership from the political leaders, but I’ve know doubt the IDF will do its best despite the tentative stop & go orders.

Yeah, Crosspatch and Blackhawk (on another thread) expressed much the same hope.
