Just what they were cooperating on is the question. Without passports or tickets for the plotters, it is hard to see how ‘imminent’ this threat was. Some people have seen the plot reach its explosive destination a little early. No doubt soon we will hear passports could have been forged so the plot really could have been imminent. Except we haven’t heard of any forged passports. Then we will hear a top al Qaeda leader is involved and has been caught. Oh, wait. That’s what the headline reads now. But then the first sentence reads: ” . . . sources believe that a man arrested in last week’s anti- terror raids in Britain is Al-Qaeda’s leader in this country.” Sources believe it is time to cover our asses. But if this is true . . . . And don’t forget: “There are certainly reasons to fear that something may be in the works given the five year anniversary of 9/11 coming up.” And there are certainly reasons we will hear more about September Eleventh again and again. That day that was the greatest failure for Bush and our security in spectacular fashion will forever be spectacularly refashioned as a reason to trust him alone. Some things don’t change. Bush was on vacation the August before September Eleventh for the entire month. Now with this threat he is off again. Something is um a little off there.
