Moonbats In Massachusetts? Who Knew?

Margery Eagan from the Boston Herald has identified a moonbat swarm in, of all places, Massachusetts. Who'd a thunk it.

Kerry Healey fans say The Moonbats form the soul of Deval Patrick’s campaign.

What’s a moonbat?

“Just a left-wing radical who believes there was a conspiracy by George Bush and Dick Cheney and Haliburton to bring down the World Trade Center,” longtime moonbat analyst Howie Carr, my colleague, explained to me yesterday.

“Someone who thinks the NSA is monitoring their phone calls, so Deval people can’t make phone calls because Dick Cheney is listening. They have trust funds and haven’t worked in 20 or 30 years. They’re on prescription medication. . . . The women? You will know them by their knitting. . . .”

And it’s easier to find one than you think.

Meet Erik Gehring of Roslindale, formerly of Jamaica Plain.

“I do know people who buy into the World Trade Center conspiracy theory. I’m not one of those. But I am a quality Bush hater. As for listening in? I know they’re listening in. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were listening (to me).I wouldn’t put much past this president.”

Erik, 38, says he does not have a trust fund but “my parents are not un-well off.”

He claims no prescription medication, either, “But you know what? (My wife) does knit a sweater here or there.”

And like all good moonbats, Erik’s a big cyberspace guy. He’s also a freelance writer, photographer, artist, radio and video producer and devoted environmentalist. Al Gore’s global warming movie? Seen it - which really goes without saying.

Remember, you will know them by their knitting……

There’s no end to the littany of moon-battery you dish, and yet you censor posts that I try to add. One you changed the content of, the other, where I challenged your hypocracy, you deleted all together.

    Man up.

  • By Gaius, Thursday, 21 September , 2006 @ 1:06 pm

Dan, the comment rules are on the about page. You should know I will delete comments that violate. Period.

  • By Dan, Thursday, 21 September , 2006 @ 1:12 pm

What about the fact that YOUR comments violate? I guess that doesn’t matter…I guess it’s more about the target of the comments than the comments themselves.

  • By Gaius, Thursday, 21 September , 2006 @ 1:17 pm

Dan, get your own site. Then you can make your very own rules.

  • By Dan, Thursday, 21 September , 2006 @ 1:25 pm

Right Gaius. Pull out the old “It’s my party” stick and beat me about the head with it. Your “rules” basically state you can say whatever you want, and ignore whatever you want, but delete whatever you want, and you’re paying so there.

If you’re not willing to step into an arena where you have an actual discussion, why are you even blogging? Why don’t you just keep a diary?

    “Dear Diary,
Today I told the world how liberals stink.

    Love, Gaius

PS - I’m a REAL american because i think war rules”

Are you simply trying to reach the people that already agree with you so you can pat each other on the back for how very American you are, and how very treasonous all of us weak liberals are? I really don’t get it.

But hey, it’s your dime to waste.

  • By Gaius, Thursday, 21 September , 2006 @ 1:33 pm

But you simply feel that you must put me in my place. And you seek to insult me personally as well. People can read or not here, it is there choice. If you don’t like what I do here, go elsewhere.

    “…know them by their knitting”

    Madame DeFarge imitators?

Remember all that “It was the best of times, it was the worse of times”?

While Islam websites use hi-tech embedded pixels to pass secret messages, are moonbats, knowing that Cheney is reading their emails
using that tried and true Novelist Charles Dickens’ method to record their plans?

  • By Gaius, Thursday, 21 September , 2006 @ 2:13 pm

Shhh. It’s all in that scarf Karl sent you…..

  • By Dan, Thursday, 21 September , 2006 @ 2:40 pm

I don’t insult you any more than you broadly insult Democrats and Liberals as a whole. But I forgot…it’s your site, so there.

  • By Gaius, Thursday, 21 September , 2006 @ 2:57 pm

Dan, you really are being tiresome today. Have I personally insulted you? Do you think that those I make fun of need your protection and that you must put me in my place, so to speak?

You are like someone invited to a party at someone’s house and complaining long and loud about the party, the host, the host’s family and anything else you can complain about.

And you’re becoming about as welcome.

As an American who WORKS for a living, with a growing family, I appreciate Gaius and other, similar, blogs for sifting through all the trash on the internet and finding the political information that is relevant to conservatives like myself. That, Dear Dan, is one of the reasons for this blog.

Or am I putting words in your mouth, Gaius?

Nah, you’re doing fine. Dan’s not usually this obnoxious.

  • By Santay, Friday, 22 September , 2006 @ 4:44 am

I second BubbaB, Gaius sorts through the chaff for us. Plus, nobody else is monitoring the little noticed but growing threat of the animal uprising.

  • By Dan, Friday, 22 September , 2006 @ 6:21 am

Aha. The assumption stage has begun. Bubba’s emphasis on WORKS I suppose is to imply that I don’t. But, since Bubba knows absolutely zero about me, I’d have to say that what Bubba thinks means absolutely zero to me.

Gaius, your metaphor about the party is great, but for the fact that no one invites anyone else to website. You see, the internet is free. I’d have thought that with all the research conservatives did to kill Gore with the “invented the internet” thing, you’d know that.

But I’ll tell you what, since you’re obviously more concerned about manners than actually beginning a political debate, I’ll just keep my comments to myself from now on. That way you can all pat each other on the back in peace and let Gaius do your “research” for you.

  • By BubbaB, Friday, 22 September , 2006 @ 11:38 am

Gee, Dan, I also emphasized “Dear” in my reference to you, does that mean something, too?

I was actually pointing out the fact that a significant portion of BLOGGERS do not have regular jobs. (Gaius, I don’t know if you do, or not - I don’t believe I have ever heard you make reference to it either way. I also don’t know about Gateway Pundit, one of my other favorites…) I apologize if you mistakenly thought my reference was to a political affiliation, and the tendency of those who have that political affiliation to be jobless/minimally employed in careers that allow them to make large amounts of money for hardly any work.

On the other hand, Gaius, if you DO have a regular job, you rock!! I don’t think I could do everything you do and hold down a job. (I guess my reading speed is too slow…)

Nah, we didn’t do “research” to kill Gore - we just publicized what he said. And no, the internet is not free. That is a grand fallacy. Somebody is paying the bills. Somebody has to maintain servers, and communication channels. Gaius PAYS for this site, in one form or another.

And I think Gaius was actually complaining about the fact that you were violating his rules, not that you were spawning “political debate.” Most trolls (both liberal and conservative) are nothing more than seagulls - fly in, make lots of noise, poop on everything, and then leave. If you avoid pooping on things or making too much noise, then we have no problems with political debate. (In fact, another of my favorites just recently had dinner with ONE OF HIS DETRACTORS - he started out as a troll, learned the rules of commenting, became a good source of “the other point of view”, happened to be in the area of the blogger, and they had dinner together. “Can’t we just all get along?”)
