Clinton Interview Video

Greg Tinti has the entire video posted over at The Political Pit Bull. He also notes this from Sister Toldjah:

You know what burns me up about the interview? Not the fact that Clinton gets uptight and defensive, but the fact that he says the Bush admin “didn’t try” (that’s who he meant when he referred to the “right wingers” who had several months to get OBL). Bush has never once blamed Bill Clinton for his failure to get OBL. Not once. This is an incredible cheap shot on the part of Clinton. Not entirely unexpected, but a cheap shot all the same.

She's absolutely correct about that.

UPDATE: Ann Althouse looks at the body language. The judgment is harsh.

UPDATE: Fishbowl DC has some reactions from Chris Wallace – he was absolutely stunned by Clinton's tirade. The left can try – is trying – to spin this. I think Ann Althouse called it correctly. This was one serious bad move on Clinton's part. This was not even close to presidential behavior.

  1. Bill Franklin says:

Please keep talking about and posting links to this video. If you think it casts Clinton / “the left” in a bad light and makes the neocons look good, you’re sadly mistaken. I hope every American sees this video.

  2. Tony B says:

Side by side… this interview and his speech telling why he didn’t take custody of OBL in 1996. But he tried.

  3. Black Jack says:

“I hope every American sees this video.”

Ditto, Bill. I too hope every American sees this video and listens carefully to what Clinton says, every word. I hope Americans remember the last time Clinton wagged his finger in our faces and said he “didn’t have sex with that woman, Ms Lewinsky.”

Yes, Bill, I hope Americans remember every single word Bill Clinton ever said, and then compares his words to his deeds. I hope Americans recall when Clinton was inaugurated as President and promised us “the most honest and ethical administration in US history.”

I hope Americans recall Clinton’s promise to find and punish the terrorists who attacked US forces in Sudan, and his promise to find and punish the terrorists who attacked our Embassies in Africa, and his promise to find and punish the terrorists who attacked the US Cole.

Yes indeed, Bill, I hope all Americans pay close attention to Bill Clinton’s words, and then judge for themselves how closely his words square with his actions. I want to see Bill Clinton judged not by what he says, but by what he did and didn’t do while in office.

  4. AllenS says:

I think what is missing about this event, is what this does to Hillary’s bid for the presidency. Do people really want Bill back in the White House?

  5. Desariee says:

Go Ahead Bill! I think he had EVERY right to get upset! I believe he did everything to get OBL and as far as the lie he told regarding Monica Lewinsky, please keep in mind that he is no longer POTUS and has no reason to be dishonest. I dont like the fact that he said he would have more troops over there, I think there are too many there now, but I dont know the full story, and we probably never will. I like the fact that he had the balls to defend himself tho. It was more than likely something that he ALWAYS wanted to do, being that they have blast him so many times in the past. Overall, I think Bill Clinton has done More for this Country than George Bush could ever do. At least his fights were original and not piggybacking off of his Father’s. You might want to ask yourself how the focus shifted off of OBL and onto Saddam Hussein. I strongly believe that Bush thought that the lives we lost on 9/11 were not as important as protecting the oil refineries. He didnt want SH to be in control of the Oil reserves and shifted the focus from OBL to SH by lying about WMD. The truth of the matter is that OBL USED his WMD against our great country and got away with it, while we spent a significant amount of time chasing SH and losing more lives. Our troops that defend our Country are being used as pawns to fight a war that is NOT ours. Go Figure!

  6. Bertrand R. says:

Nice post Black Jack. Hmmm….Well it was Somalia NOT Sudan, oh but it started with an “S”, close enough. Cat got your tongue on the embassy bombings in AFRICA? Africa isn’t a country you buffoon. Oh, I just realized that to you, Africa is such a nebulous place that it needs to be referred to as one entity. The perpetrators of the bombing of the USS Cole were apprehended and prosecuted. And lastly, how pathetic that the Right needs to pull the Monica card since they have so little to else of substance. Black Jack, how many innocent lives were spent during the Monica Lewinsky scandal vs. how many lives have been and will be spent in the present and the distant future will the Iraq scandal?

  7. James Daoust says:

Didn”t anyone see the interview Clinton had with Jon Stewart? Can’t the uptight ones (on both sides) see that the mudflinging it just a tactic? We believe in it so much that even the concerned folks replying to these statements are using it on each other. Call me a hippi or a nonconformist or a beatnick, whatever. Can’t everyone just step back for a moment a look at the facts? How many times have we all seen Bush in interviews? Is he not just squirming to finish every time? Does he not overide every questing with graphic questions of his own? Talkin’ bout’…”These people are coming to kill your family Matt Lauer!” Come on.

Now look at Clinton’s interviews…He’s relaxed, he’s comfortable, he’s in his stride. HE”S TELLING HIS TRUTH ABOUT HIS EXPERIENCE. Of course it is just his own experience, and he’s going to have his own side, but he’s being honest. Bush always looks like he’s lying on camera. Anywhay, opps, I believe I have just misspelled anyway…Oh well I’ll leave it for you Bertrand…

  8. Miscka Jeffs says:

Nice Post R. Bertrand. Hmmm…. the old when “Clinton lied nobody died” diatribe is getting old. And what’s with the nit-picking about the embassy bombings in Africa. Oh my gosh! I said the A-word again. I guess I’m going to get bi-yatched-slap at for that. BTW. Not to be petty like u but ur last sentence, you use the word “will” instead of “with”. U might want to take back that moron comment… people who live in glass house…
Really we all know what Black Jack is referring to (Kenya & Tanzania). So what exactly DID Clinton do to resolve all those attacks? Nada.
Fact: The perpetrators of the USS Cole were captured under the Bush Administration not Clinton. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Cole_bombing. Learn.
Fact: 1st Attack on WTC was in 1993 by Al Qaeda. Clinton in office. Did nothing. The perpetrators, including the infamous Blind Sheik, were captured and admitted that Bin Laden was behind this first attack. These perpetrators were being tried at the time of the second attack on 9/11. How ironic.
Fact: By his own admissions in Feb. 1996, Clinton said he was offered Bin Laden by the Sudanese (yes not Somalia) Govt. But Clinton said he did not want him because he (UBL) had committed no crimes against the US and pleaded with the Saudis to take him. What was the first attack on WTC? Drive by? Hellooooo!!!
Fact: In Richard Clark’s book, (which Clinton praised so much in this interview) he (Clarke) said Clinton had no comprehensive plan to deal with Bin Laden. Yet Clinton lied, again on National TV (surprise!!) saying he did.
Fact: In Richard Clark’s book again, on pg 292, he said he was not demoted nor fired but asked to be transferred. Yet Clinton lied, again on Nat. TV(surprise!!) and said that the Bush Admin fired him. (Somebody give this man some truth serum).
I could keep going on and on but what sense would that make for u Kool-aid drinkers that have ur head stuck so far up Clinton’s butt you can’t see the truth if it bitch-slap u in the ass.

To Desariee, it was a legitimate question for Mr. Wallace to ask. We all are asking it. Clinton is not absolved from scrutiny. Clinton certainly had more opportunities to take out Bin Laden. Hell he had 8 yrs. For Clinton to say Bush had eight mths and did nothing is yet another lie and very lowly of him to say that. The 9/11 Commission report says otherwise. But what do expect from him? Also the old “war for oil” tirade is old as well. I’m curious to know what more exactly has Bill Clinton done for Country? Put down the Kool-Aid people and wake up.

Finally, truth be told once again. All this back and forth started with the ABC Drama “The Path to 9/11″ which got the Dems panties and in a bunch. This movie portrayed King Clinton (whose name must not be tarnished because he was our most perfect president) as being distracted. Helloooo!!! How do u explain is lack of action on Terrorism? It’s ok to attack the reputation of the Republican just not the Dems right? Ever heard of what’s good for the goose….

  9. Frank says:

George W. Bush would never be able to articulate the way Bill Clinton can, the most basic thing after motor skills is speach and the president of the United States needs to be able to speak. It is how we communicate, Bush is not capable of speaking like an adult, Bill Clinton spoke like an educated man, he formulated his responses, he answered questions head on, Bush only changes the subject and follows it up by screwing up a cliche. Even with people writing his speaches Bush can not pull a speach off. That is because he is a pupet, his father and their free mason (or whatever elitest group) friends pull the strings.

Everything he has done has been a business venture, with peoples lives being completely disregarded. Ever since Bush has been president there have been more lives lost, and now the military says they need 60,000 more troops to sign up. Now we have gone against the UN, we have the whole Muslim world against us, we have sided with Israel in their unlawful strikes on Lebanon. Korea hates us, the french hate us, europe as whole thinks we are fat stupid americans.

Bill Clinton got things done and even had time for some play, Bush on the other hand has taken more time off than any other president, he spends more time at his ranch than in any office. He throws money at the problem, because it is a worthwhile investment to him and his family. Who in america has benefited from any of his wars, prices on practically everything have gone up (because of shipping costs, due to oil cost increase), who has gained? Is the world safer? It is actually more instable than ever. Why? Because everyone has guns that we dealt, one dayan islamic militant group will send a missle our way and right before impact we will see the US flag on it, because chances are we made it. And if we didn’t make it, the Russians did and they sold it because when we “helped” the fall of Communisim we shattered their system and turned the place to a bigger pile of $#%^ than ever before.

I think that some countries can not function with democracy, it just does not work for them, and for us to impose it is ludicrous, the world was much more stable when there were superpowers…plural. One superpower is bad for the world, because “absolute power, corrupts absolutely” or as George W would probably put it “absolte power, absolutely…well if you’re too powerful you might get a fat head”

  10. Gaius says:

Oh, Clinton was great at talking. It was actually accomplishing anything that was a challenge for him.

And your cultural chauvinism is really showing, as well.

  11. Stephanie From Texas says:

Everytime I hear an interview with Bill Clintion, I am reminded of how a REAL president should sound: Articulate, intelligent, passionate and strong! For those of you that enjoy criticizing him….go ahead! That is the beauty of “freedom of speech”!! But for anyone who speaks out on any behalf, make sure you are educated and do your research first!

Mr. Miskca Jeffs, your tirade on President Clinton was about as coherent as one of Presidnet Bush’s speeches. Maybe you should reconsider using phrases and words like “I guess I’m going to get bi-yatched-slap at for that” and “you can’t see the truth if it bitch-slap u in the ass”. You have an opinion, but people are much less likely to take you seriously if you act ridiculously immature.

In my opinion, after what I have witnessed and researched, President Clinton was an amazing president. Not perfect, by any means – nobody is. But he accomplished a great deal for this country. If you disagree with his morals, FINE!! But you don’t put someone in the white house (or take them out, for that matter) because of their sex life….you put them in because they will do a good job politically.

President Clinton is actually pretty good friends with the current Presdident’s father. He made a point when George W. got elected to support him. If he disagreed, he would let that be known. If he agreed, he would applaud him. He is not playing the blame game here. FOX news is.

  12. Miscka Jeffs says:

To Stephanie fr Texas: I don’t know what interview to which you are referring but we are blogging on the Chris Wallace Interview on Fox News last Sunday. Try to keep up.

That interview was a pretty good example of a president becoming unhinged when asked a tough, yet legitimate question. He was certainly not articulate, not intelligent, and totally lacked composure. No where near presidential!! An articulate, and intelligent president would not have lost his cool and spouted untruths as Clinton did. As for passionate and strong, I think the jury is still out on that one. If that interview is the example of how a “REAL president should sound” then President Bush is clearly superior to him.

Never once did I mention Clinton’s personal life or his morals. But since u brought it up Stephanie fr Texas, let’s go there. Because all I can here from you staunched Clintonites is how good he was at public-speaking and oh, so what about his personal life!! Lets be objective here for once! Clinton allowed the events of his personal life to distract him from the job he was elected (yes, even by me) to do. That is protect America. Clearly Clinton thinks he did more than Bush to address terrorism but the evidence proved otherwise. Clinton tried to exonerate himself, but none of his statements he said in his defense, are true. I pointed that out in my previous blog that was facetious in tone. Facts are facts. Doesn’t get any simpler than that Stephanie fr Texas. Maybe you are just too blind to get it. Coherent enough or did I loose you Stephanie? Probably.

So my question still stand. What exactly did Clinton do while in office that is so much better than Bush? Unemployment? Nope, lowest ever today. Economy? Nope, although the liberal mainstream media says it’s doom and gloom stock market shows otherwise. Immigration? Heck no! Terrorism? Balance Budget? Easy to do when you have your head in the sand instead of spending the money to address the growing threat of Radical Islam. Tax Base? IRS says we have record taxable income generated as of Sept 15th this year, to the tune of $75 billion most ever in US history. Tax cut really working there. So tell me why was Clinton so much better? Oh, I forgot, he good at public speaking.

Truth is, I am extremely disappointed at Clinton for blaming the current administration for the attacks of 9/11, for lying about what policies he implemented, and trying to cover his inadequacies and inaction. And I voted for the man! As mentioned before, never once did the Bush Admin., stoop so low as to do that to his predecessor. Even now when asked about it yesterday, Bush refused to point a finger at Clinton. That shows class!!! Clinton had 8yrs, several attacks, and several opportunities during those years to react, Bush only had 8 mths and 1 PDB. U do the math Stephanie fr Texas. If that ‘s not too hard for u. But my guess is it is.

  13. Stephanie From Texas says:

Mr. Miscka, I know what interview we are talking about here. If you want to insult my intelligence, go ahead. I can do the math. Don’t worry! You know, it is people like you that turn people off to having an intelligent conversation. You talk about class, but do you have any yourself? My guess? Proably not! (how do you like a little taste of you own medicine?) Usually, I would not stoop so low as to bow down to your level, but I think maybe, just maybe…. you deserve it!

Wow! I didn’t know that President Bush’s term started on September 11, 2001!!! That is NEWS TO ME!! President Clinton tried as hard as hell to get Bin Laden. Republicans accused him of being OBSESSED with him. Are you kidding me? There were no meetings held on Bin Laden after President Clinton left. For 8 months into his presidency, Bush did NOTHING. Please….I think you are the blind one, Mr. Miscka.

About the morals (which you did bring up, by the way: “the old when ‘Clinton lied nobody died’ diatribe is getting old)…I am a woman who has high morals, and I certainly don’t agree with Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky, but are you going to try to tell me that other great presidents have not cheated? JFK? Numerous others! And most of them haven’t even been caught! Give it up, buddy!

The FOX interview was a pretty good example of a president getting angry, and rightfully so!! But he wasn’t just angry, he was highly informative too!! What did you concentrate on, Mr. Miscka? The anger or the information? It’s quite motivating to see a democrat FINALLY stand up for themselves and the democratic party! He spoke clearly and he ANSWERED Mr. Wallace’s question. President Clinton agreed to go on FOX NEWS, knowing that there would be some sort of sneaky tactic attempting to unravel him! He was ready for that interview, and in my opinion, he ACED it! Mr. Wallace just didn’t know what to do with himself!

And would like to know something? You DO lose me when you rant…because you make absolutely no sense. How did Clinton let his personal life affect his job? I’m pretty sure it was the opposing party that turned it into the media circus that it was! THAT was a waste of time and highly disruptive! How did Clinton NOT protect the United States (I don’t like to use the word America b/c we are not the only America)? What evidence and facts are you talking about? Are you too close-minded that you can’t see the writing on the wall? War against TERROR? How much terror does this man have to cause before he admits something is WRONG!!! People are DYING. And not just soldiers…innocent people too.

When you say “liberal” media, you have GOT to be kidding me! That really did make me laugh out loud. You know, I could give a list of really great things that Clinton did for this country, but the problem is: What’s the point? It’s obvious that you wouldn’t listen. You don’t listen to anybody but yourself – or maybe somebody that sings your same tune. Why should I waste my time? People that pay attention already know. But not you.

Oh, and as far as I know, Clinton is not blaming the current administation for the attacks on 9/11…he is blaming them for neglecting the issue until it happened. Maybe if the current administration had been more attentive and followed through with Clinton and his “obsession”, who knows? Maybe it still would have happened…but maybe not. Oh, and I didn’t know “class” included telling Matt Lauer that “these people are coming to kill your family”. Yep, real CLASSY!

FOX news…fair and balanced? I don’t think so!

  14. Miscka Jeffs says:

That right Stephaine fr Texas…keep drinking that Kool Aid the Clintons keep dishing out. I bet u believed the first finger pointing where he said “I did not have sex with that woman, Ms Lewinsky”. Now u believe that since Clinton said Bush did nothing that is the gospel too right? Read the 9/11 report is proves Bill Clinton is a liar!

U keep referring to the Matt Lauer interview. If that’s all u have then, that’s pretty pathetic. When Radical Islamic Terrorists declares war on the US; tells their subordinates/members to kill all Americans anywhere and anyhow, be-heads us and show on the internet, that tells me that they want to kill me and my family. What’s so un-classy about that? Bush did not make that up. That’s in all those call to arms tapes fr the terrorists. If u don’t believe the terrorist are trying to kill Americans and their family anywhere, then I guess USS Cole did not happen; 9/11 did not happen; bombings in Beirut, Kenya, Tanzania, Spain, London, Bali and many more did not happen; attacks on our troops in Somalia (not Sudan) did not happen; all foiled plots listed in the news were trumped up. I guess all the attacks on Americans since the 1980s did not happen. Well that explains Clinton’s lack of action. We all imagined it!!! I get it now.

Again, read the 9/11 report. I know it’s over 500 pages and it might be hard for u to understand. Keep a dictionary and a Thesaurus close by. (the dictionary will tell u what a Thesaurus is!)

I’m sooo sorry public school has failed u. Because you are incapable of comprehending a single sentence written in black and white and is staring u in the face. It called blindness. (For. eg. I never said President Bush’s term started on 9/11. I said Bush was in office for eight mths, b/4 9/11 occurred. Clinton had 8 yrs! Try to keep u again. I see math is not ur area of expertise! Try re-reading my blog and again keep a dictionary and a Thesaurus close by).

I really feel sorry for you. Because it’s people like u with ur head in the sand that cause us to be in this predicament with the war on terror. You claim u have researched Clinton, well, what research did u do exactly? You read his book? The only way you can wake up is when a mushroom cloud happens in ur backyard. Well, the rest of us smart-minded Americans will not let that happen. My guess is u don’t believe it will happen because u live in a dream world of pre-9/11 mentally and u just keep drinking that kool-aid. Put it down lady and wake up!

Side note: Did u see the stock market hit that record high today!!! The economy is really gone to crap now.

My advice, keep drinking that kool-aid lady. I hope and pray for u that one day u will wake up….b/4 that mushroom cloud hit.
I’ll try and help you one more time and sign off with this one link which I’m sure you won’t understand/believe either. It is a 1998 PDB given to your God, Clinton by his appointed CIA director, George Tenet. It is entitled “Bin Laden preparing to hijack US aircraft and other attacks”. In 1998 lady! Here is the link….

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A58615-2004Jul17.html

This was three years b/4 9/11. He did nothing!!! Put that in your pipe and smoke it, but don’t inhale….Good luck to ya!!!

  15. Stephanie From Texas says:

Well, I am done with you, Mr. Miscka. I am the one that feels truly sorry for you. Your degrading does not do any good to anyone – not even yourself. Public school did NOT fail me. In fact, I have a BA in Psychology. And I graduated Magna Cum Laude – from a PRIVATE school (not that private schools are any better than public schools..I’m not an elitist like you). So insult my intelligence all you want. You know, if math isn’t my subject, grammer certainly isn’t yours.

Your “kool-aid” talk is getting old, by the way. Oh, and I didn’t “keep talking” about the Matt Lauer interview…my last post was the first time to mention it!! Try to pay attention, dear.

I don’t need your pity. Mr Miscka. Hope and pray all you want. I will pray for you too (regardless of what you think, I am a NOT an atheist, hippie, drug addicted, dumb whore). And I’m sorry, but you give “smart-minded” americans, both republicans and democrats, a bad name.

I am done responding to you. I wish you the best.

  16. Miscka Jeffs says:

Psychology huh? Well, that explains a lot. If I were u I would ask for a refund!!!
We engineers call those majors party degrees… meaning you could party all day and night and still get an A in class. What a riot!! LOL!!!
While ur getting ur refund ask your professors to name one Republican that says Clinton was “obsessed” with UBL? Oh, I forgot, Professor Clinton made that statement, so it must be true.

Sorry to burst ur bubble but that’s another lie!!! Look it up… I’m not sure where I found that out but try factcheck.org.

(I can’t stop laughing!!!) Good luck with that there psychology degree!
