Untitled document oh give me a fricken break. any 16 year old male better have the sense to discern what to consent to. the monroe louisiana page said "these emails are creepy, get away from me". others apparently found them enticing and progressed to hour long im sessions. 16 years old is the age of consent in many states and it used to be 14. if parents were doing their jobs in raising critically thinking kids, instead of passing it off on television. the internet and the schools, (EDIT - see comment policy - only warning) like this would be non-existant.

The resignation rocked the Capitol, and especially Foley’s GOP colleagues, as lawmakers were rushing to adjourn for at least six weeks. House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) told The Washington Post last night that he had learned this spring of some “contact” between Foley and a 16-year-old page. Boehner said he told House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.), and that Hastert assured him “we’re taking care of it.”

Is it all about numbers? Why yes, yes it is... welcome to the twilight of the Two Party State in which we head towards a Zero Party State. What happens when Parties view districts as 'booty to be won'? It sounds an awful lot like Aristocrats and nothing like Representatives. That is how they sound to me and have sounded that way for quite some time now. And as Joe Lieberman pointed out in his PJM interview: the fastest growing voter segment is *independent* and non-aligned. The 50/50 Nation still has enough voting age individuals to make that into a 30/30/30/10 Nation, with the 10% being totally disaffected with the Two Parties. That has been growing since the late 60's and early 70's and the Nation is only 50/50 because of Two Parties that are *equally* unrepresentative and equally bad and equally polarizing. It is that last 30% that has been growing for decades and continues to grow... soon *it* will be the plurality...

Agreed- he ought to be history.

That said, the story is bigger. As the left is making hay about this, they are nowhere found talking about Barney Franks, Gerry Studds, etc- all having comitted crimes far more egregious than exchanging email.

As I wrote, ‘You can’t be select in claiming the moral high ground.’
