Why was it not stopped?

The answer will either make you laugh or cry. His name is Gerry Studds.

The pages were warned 5 years ago. That is all they get.

The age of consent for males, in DC, is 16. The kid involved is now over 18. But to be a page? Between 16 and 17 will do. And, so what laws have been broken?

Listening to Drudge, it turns out that the INTERNET is getting all sorts of laws people would be surprised to hear.

To start. It is now ILLEGAL for anyone under 18 years of age to write about SEXUAL CONTENT. So that's the FELONY.

Are you ready for this?

No wonder Hastert has come out swinging. He's got the laws, now, that turn obnoxious emails and messages to a whole new level.

Will it be tolerated? Will it pass the smell test?

By the way, Foley was KNOWN as a homosexual guy.

And, IF you look at the donk party, what you see is that they're throwing out Jews from their tent. And, now homosexuals? This should get interesting.

While politics is always measured by how the voters turn out. And, who gets elected. Not just individuals. But how the parties do.

And, Congress may get a lot less friendly. (In the past, it was common, once elected, to reach across the aisle and do the nation's business.)

Now we're gonna find that it's illegal to write "spanky" messages?

Remember this, Foley was OUT OF TOWN. The IM messages that got saved were written about masturbation. On a topic that the Congressman pursued WITH A VERY WILLING TEENAGER. Who then saved those messages. Strange. Political. NOT TOO SURPRISING. Since this is a political dirty trick!

Page goes to Washington, DC. Prefers the donks. Is willing to bait a republican homosexual. NO SEX. Just dirty conversation. Next time? I think jerks should use their telephones.

Be careful what you wish for. If someone was sitting on proof, rather than dealing in suspicion, they need to go down, regardless of party.

I want all the facts out, no partisanship.

Doesn't look good now, especially in light of the new story about Congressional pages being warned about Foley back in 2001. Obviously, it was well known that the guy had a problem. Why was it not stopped?

This is redic, the world is full of guys like Foley. He's creepy, but so is Dick Cheney and Dick is a lot more dangerous to be around.

Did Foley ever have physical contact with any of these boys? If he did, I'm sure the sex was consensual. Every young gay boy has to have a first time. I'm sure Mark Foley is better than hanging around public restrooms at midnight and taking pot luck.

One aspect of this is Hastert's and other's knowledge of the first set of e-mails. Without the clarity of the lurid and despicable IMs there is nothing actionable. Not in reality. I've seen similar such communications from one subordinate to another...both in the military and in the private sector... and other than give them a stern warning there isn't much else one can do. Unless it escalates, because creepy without real substance just gets _you_ in trouble. Anyone whos says different either doesn't have the required experiance or is a damn liar.

Make it doubly so for those who accuse Hastert because he isn't Foley's boss. The people of his district in Florida are.

The really guilty parties are those who seem to have known about the IM months ago. Those IMs claerly show an escaltion, as I mention above, that was actionable. Yet someone sat on this information until October.

The whole thing stinks from one end to the other.
