[...] This also says nothing about the troops who go on to college after they leave the service. I read things like this: Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael A. Monsoor had been near the only door to the rooftop structure Sept. 29 when the grenade hit him in the chest and bounced to the floor, said four SEALs who spoke to The Associated Press this week on condition of anonymity because their work requires their identities to remain secret.
James, he is a hero. The MoH is extremely rare - and should be. That said, I would think this action must be under consideration for that medal.

But if it is not awarded, Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael A. Monsoor is no less a hero.

This is another case of the government dragging its heels. This man and several other Marines have sacrificed thier lives by doing such a thing. They gave their lives to save others. Doesnt that mean they should recieve the Medal of Honor?
He was 25. Saved his Seal buddies. So far in this war we've had, what? 2 MOHs? With the battles that have been waged, there should be more.Maybe even one or two who qualify for the MOH who are LIVING.
I'm not saying there should be a quota. But, by God, there should be heros. THERE should be men who are honored.

I'm a 31 old man from the communist China but happen to be a solid and ardent pro-American, pro-freedom conservative out of my own conviction. I've just encountered the heroic story when surfing on the internet, and felt choke up as my eyes rolled down on those burning, heart-touching words.

I was almost moved to tears by the consummate dedication and selfless sacrifice of, and the unparalleled honor and valiance displayed by Mr. Monsoor. I salute this great man and his impeccable character and courage from the bottom of my heart and am ready to share his story with my friends.

My heart and prayers go to the great man and his families. He will not die in vain because he has already become an immortal and inspiring model for tens of thousands of people in America and worldwide including myself.

I've just observed one minute of silence for him. And I also copied his photo from online, made a memory card with it and put it into my notebook as a cherished item. This great man and true American hero has left an indelible print in my mind which I firmly believe will guide and inspire my life from now on. And finally, Kudos to Michael Monsoor and God bless! R.I.P.

P.S., To be absolutely candid and straightforward, I sincerely believe Iraq war was a mistake, an unnecessary and undeserving drain of American blood and treasure. Jorge Bush should bear the brunt of the grievous error, but all this by no means diminished the lofty and unrivaled heroism of Americans troops already in Iraq despite the wrong governmental policy. What I advocate is not cut-and-run, but the true America First spirit of only fighting and bleeding for what is truly vital for America’s life and freedom which Iraq wasn’t in the first place. Now I only pray they all come back home soon and safe from that sinking pit. To wish otherwise is the really un-American and unpatriotic.
