Military historian John Keegan, writing in the Telegraph reacts to the (incorrect) media reports of Bush supposedly comparing Iraq to Vietnam. Even though he is reacting to a misinterpretation...

What misinterpretation? How do you back up your claim that the media reports of Bush comparing Iraq to Vietnam are incorrect? The transcript of Bush doing exactly has been published and speaks for itself.

The majority of the media is operating in a completely irresponsible fashion these days in a desperate attempt to cause the war to fail.

What is your evidence for this? The war IS failing, and the media is reporting that truth. That's what they are supposed to be doing.

The question that must be answered by all those who oppose the war in Iraq is this: Are you, personally, willing to bear the responsibility for the bloodshed that will follow a precipitous withdrawal from Iraq? Because there will be bloodshed.

As opposed to the absence of bloodshed now?

"And the media will be complicit."

Yes they will. MSM will gladly take credit for ending American participation in Iraq, but deny any responsibility for the bloody aftermath. Dems and their media wing will blame GWB for every act of violence, every political setback, and every squandered opportunity, except the only one whch really counts.

It will be their theme for 2008.
