Let’s see, President Bush jokes about his fraudulent rationale for war (the infamous dinner where he’s “looking” for the missing WMDs), yet somehow that’s not seen as insulting the troops, not to mention every patriotic American of any political stripe.

John Kerry poorly words a jab at President Bush, and somehow he’s seen as commtting a horrible insult to the troops.

Yes, he could have said it better. Just remember, he ACTUALLY served in a conflict overseas. The same cannot be said of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Frist, Hastert, Gingrich, Rice, Allen, or Romney. Or O’Reilly, Coulter, Limbaugh, Gibson, Savage, or Hannity.

Wow, it really is hard to find a prominent conservative with war experience. John McCain seems to be the only one.

Oh yeah, this is a big club. It is even bigger because far too many do not understand how big it is. Just look at some of the comenters coming in with talking points. They do not get it.

Any Republican campaign manager in a closely contested election who cannot figure out a way to use this deserves to lose. Kerry’s “explanation” is ridiculous, and his outright refusal to apologize–even if you buy his “botched joke” reasoning–shows a level of contempt that can be used as a “typical liberal elitist” club to swing with abandon.
