Poll Results

A post-election poll that Reuters just released says many of the social goals the Dems ran on are important to Americans. But there are very large warning flags for the Democrats in the results as well.

While a bare majority of 51 percent called the Democrats' victory "a good thing," even more said they were concerned about some of the actions a Democratic Congress might take, including 78 percent who were somewhat or very concerned that it would seek too hasty a withdrawal of troops from Iraq.

Another 69 percent said they were concerned that the new Congress would keep the administration "from doing what is necessary to combat terrorism," and two-thirds said they were concerned it would spend too much time investigating the administration and Republican scandals.

Reuters, of course, led with things like raising the minimum wage and negotiating over drug prices, but these other items are very real indicators of how much rope the electorate plans on giving the Democrats. The question is will the Democrats note the dangers or plow right ahead.

The best thing that could happen to America is for the Dems to allow the Leftist Bushhaters to continue their rage whereby splintering Democrat power forever.

I’m willing to endure the Bushhaters for two more years knowing it would utlimately purge them from American politics.

I say ‘Bring it On Bushhaters!

And they will because Leftist rage is all a Leftist knows.

Polls are a variation on the old saw that figures don’t lie but liars can figure.

Ask a person, “Are you concerned that a Democratic Congress would seek too hasty a withdrawal of troops from Iraq?” and what other answer would get but “yes.” Ask them if a Democratic Congress might be too slow in seeking a withdrawl of troops from Iraq and they’ll say “Yes.”

The American public is utterly confused about the Iraq War and I include myself. We don’t know what the heck it was ever about and why our government and media wanted it soooo bad. Is there an ulterior motive thats a good motive that they just don’t want to tell us, the same way you encourage kids to keep on believing in Santa Claus because they enjoy it so much? I don’t know. I don’t know what the motives were for this war. I find it very, very hard to believe that people like Sen. Nelson (D-FL) believed it when the administration told him the Iraqis were going to send over drones in shipping containers and the drones were laden with chemical weapons and they were going to crash them all over the US.

This was to be a war, an invasion of another country, a country with lots of poverty and history of violence. It was such a serious decision to invade Iraq and the excuse seems to be that they didn’t think that hard about it. After 9/11, they didn’t have to think that hard if maybe it might be a threat. Maybe it might.
