Outright Fraud Exposed

It seems that one of the photos that bloggers questioned early on in the Israeli-Hezbollah war was, indeed, a fraud. And one that was perpetrated by the editors, according to the photographer who took the pictures.

All our suspicions about mainstream media slanting and distorting the news from the Middle East are confirmed in a bombshell of a post by Bruno Stevens, at the Lightstalkers pro photographers’ forum: The Lebanon ‘garbage dump’ story: complete explanation. (Hat tip: Snapped Shot.)

His photograph, published by both US News and World Report and Time Magazine, had a caption describing the scene as the wreckage of an Israeli jet shot down by Hizballah. In this post, Stevens reveals that the captions he sent in with his pictures described the scene accurately—but editors at the magazines changed the captions to completely alter the story.

This caption clearly says that there is no proof that an Israeli jet had been shot down and that the objective was indeed to destroy a legitimate military target.

…A week later TIME published this image shot at the same time as the first…

They choose to caption it this way (I had NO control in this matter), they HAD my original caption: “The wreckage of a downed Israeli jet that was targeting Hizballah trucks billows smoke behind a Hizballah gunman in Kfar Chima, near Beirut. Jet fuel set the surrounding area ablaze.”

The anti-Israel bias of mainstream media has never been revealed more nakedly; the editors who selected this photograph deliberately changed the caption to convey an anti-Israel message, throwing the truth right out the window to do it.

How much more was propaganda? How much truth is the media publishing these days at all?

MSM is willing to print or broadcast the truth whenever it doesn’t conflict with their liberal agenda. They actually prefer the truth, but refuse to allow a little thing like that to get in the way of their primary mission, supporting the Democrat Party.

In times past, prior to the most recent midterms, where MSM pulled out all the stops and blatantly propagandized for their ideological brethren, MSM at least made an effort to conceal their pervasive liberal bias.

For example, in the 2000 election, when MSM called Florida for AlGore while the polls were still open in GOP dominant Western Florida, MSM pretended to be unaware the Florida panhandle was on Central Time. Likewise, in 2004 MSM pretended to believe Dan Rather’s phony documents were accurate even after they proved to be fakes. Laughable, of course, but caught in their own trap, what else could they say?

But, all that’s long ago and far behind us now. MSM’s agenda is on open display, and it is virtually indistinguishable from the Democrat Party’s platform. There’s not a dime’s worth of difference between them.

It’s kinda funny but the media can’t do simple math either. Take this story for example.

As part of publicity for the new logo, KFC commissioned a giant, 87,000-square foot version of it that can be seen from space. The massive logo consists of 65,000 1-foot square painted tiles that were laid out in the Nevada desert over 24 days.

Uhm … 65,000 1-foot squares would be 65,000 square feet. Sheesh.
