I like this concept (uhmm 1300 CST:)) though I prefer a cleaner grphic design. The right margin bar looks cluttered. Maybe smaller buttons? They are bigger than the font.

I like this setup a lot. The blue sky over the meadow is perfect for the motto. Need to put up that pic of the founder, though. That's what I picture when I think of you, Pop.

I don't believe in protectionism... instead I believe in Trade that supports Friends and Allies of the United States.

Those Nations that have been long term friends and allies get Free Trade with the US.

Those that are neither here nor there can pay a 10% tariff out of their own pockets to get access to the US market.

Those that are enemies we will have Zero trade with.

Simple but not simplistic as it rewards friends and allies and allows them to grow strongly with Us. This makes for stronger alliances in which to face a world that has proven overly hostile. Those that seek neither harm nor good are seeking their own way to safety which is honorable. By not helping in the long term they can *pay* in the short term and help alleviate budgetary problems.

Enemies get targeted, as it should be.

But then I do believe in supporting friends and allies and thanking them as much as I can *now* for we might get in a tight spot and NEED them someday. I have gone over this before and it is about as brief as this response: http://thejacksonianparty.blogspot.com/2006/03/jacksonian-foreign-policy.html

I like the new format. It's sharp. Trackback doesn't seem to be working, so if it doesn't, here's the <a href="http://lespritdescalier.blogspot.com/2006/11/free-trade-and-distributional-politics.html" rel="nofollow">manual one</a>.

<strong>Free Trade and Distributional Politics...</strong>

That said, the gains from free trade are not unambiguously good: the gains are spread broadly, and the losses are concentrated within sectors in which we no longer have a comparative advantage vis-a-vis our domestic markets....
