You say these weapons "had to have come directly from Iran." Your source says: "This suggests, say the sources, that the material is going directly from Iranian factories to Shia militias ..." It suggests it, yes. It doesn't make it a certainty. It's perfectly possible for weapons to be manufactured in Iran, then a few months later be on the black market, then a few months later in Iraq. The timing would be tight but not impossibly so. BTW, was it an act of war against the Soviet Union for the US to supply the Afghan insurgents with Stingers, etc.? Just curious.
