About Time, Too!

Finally, someone is taking the Animal Uprising™ seriously! The police in Riga, Latvia have woken up to the enormous threat posed by the scheming beasts. When they were notified of a wild boar loose at a gas station, they responded quickly, appropriately and with great force!

They sent in the SWAT team!

RIGA (AFP) - A police SWAT unit was called out to a gas station in the Latvian capital early Friday after a wild boar was spotted wandering around the facility.

"We received a call at about 2:00 am (0000 GMT) and sent out special operations unit 'Alfa'," state police spokesman Aigars Berzins told AFP Friday.

"The boar was about three years old and had wandered in from a wild animal yard," he said.

Such yards are becoming more and more popular in Latvia, and are often set up in wooded suburban areas near big cities.

During the ensuing gun battle, the pig took several gas station attendants hostage before being cut into riblets in a hail of heavy caliber gunfire. Ok, ok, we confess. We made that last bit up completely. It was more exciting than what really happened. They actually just quietly led the pig back to his pen.

Having been screaming hysterically over and over about the dreaded Taser-Proof® Bacon running amok everywhere, it is heartwarming to see our advice finally being followed. Kudos to the Latvian SWAT team! I think a good old fashioned pig roast is in order!

Dad, check the news. There’s a rumor from an Iraqi official that Saddam will be executed within the next 24 hours.

I’m aware of that. THere are also still some conflicting reports as to whether or not he has been handed over to the Iraqis. I’m watching it - when I’m not fixing software, that is.
