You had seals in the bay and didn't inform us? What are you thinking? How can we spread the word if we never hear about these things!

I landed flat on my back the first time I shot skeet with my dad's 12. I just tipped right over! Loved it and shot until I couldn't move my arm. I was 13. What I really enjoy as an adult, though, is a black powder 50.

And here's another yay vote for the diversity of your posts. My daughter and I had a good laugh yesterday pointing out scouts for the Animal Uprising (seals in the bay).

You might want to check on recoil reducing stocks. I guess these are pretty sweet, for example.

She doesn't sound like she has problems with the recoil, but for skeet I think zero recoil would be a good thing.

“Shotgun”… you mean “Mossberg’s lil bastards”, right? The flashy, chromed “oh sweet Jeebus he’s gonna take our legs!” they hear it pump while I yell “get off my friggin’ lawn” things I’ve come to love….

Right?"

Well, if you're talking to me mine's black as midnight and specially modified.

I don't like shiney, flashy things. I prefer the "I never saw or heard that coming" kinda modus operandi. That's just my nature.

Never, ever mess with a "little" guy. They grew up with something to prove. And they will, given the opportunity.

Brings back memories. My dad was heavier, but also 5'4". He also had massive bruises on his shoulder after an afternoon of shooting trap with a 12-gauge. I was 14 or 15 at the time.

I never thought of my dad as a little guy. He was more of a man than many physically big guys I have known, and taught me more about courage and integrity than he ever knew.

I sure miss him.

Funny, I've had a few complaints because I do just that. Of course, those complaints also contain more than a few banned words..... Ah, well. The Crabitat is what it is.

Those kinda guys are usually very reliable in an emergency. Last year I bought a new Mossberg Tactical to practice with and in order to experiment a little bit with some Non-Lethal Rounds I've been trying to develop.

I'm surprised they let you train on badly maintained firearms however. Maybe that was subconsciously part of the lesson, to keep your personal arms well maintained and in good shape by demonstrating what bad maintenance can do to firing efficiency and accuracy.

Oh, and by the way, I wrote part of a sermon tonight called, "The Rediscovered Country." Your post on Limes in Utrecht was part of the inspiration. You post on a wide variety of subject matter quite often. I think that is a good tactic when blogging and one reason I come here when I can.

(edit to close tags)
