I think my grocery bill has gone up 20% this year. But spare me the talk about people not being able to afford groceries. People are driving more than ever. Restaurants are jammed everynight. Fact of the matter is that Americans spend a smaller percentage of their income on food than anyone else in the world. A dollar a bushel rise in the price of wheat will add less than two cents to the cost of a loaf of bread. You can squawk all you want about food prices.
