The fringes of both sides like to resort to name-calling. When they do, it shows they don’t have facts or logic to support their positions.

As to the matter at hand, OF COURSE the Democrats are playing politics, as are the Republicans, as were both sides when the Democrats were threatening to filibuster judicial appointees.

The difference is that the Democrats aren’t saying that the Republicans don’t have a right to filibuster, as the Republicans were doing to the Democrats.

It actually works against the Democratic party attempts to paint this as “Bush’s war” and puts them firmly on the side of “Democratic party surrenders to the terrorists.” Thank heavens Harry’s not smart enough to see that. That is the perfect way to paint the Democrats as the party of defeat and retreat – and he walked right into it. Nice shoes, Harry.

…he said, as though the vast majority of the country doesn’t want the war to end and think it was a mistake, as well as Bush’s war. Yes, forcing the Republicans to defend it all night long and creating a lot of press, pressuring the GOP to listen to the American people….is somehow a bad idea.

Reid supported filibusters under the Dems because it was good policy. He wasn’t filibustering to filibuster. And, he has never attacked the GOP’s right to filibuster, so there’s no hypocrisy.

Honestly, it seems like GOPers get dumber every day.
