Knives Out

The Boston Globe – proudly in the tank for Hillary! Clinton – rips into Barack Obama. They uncover just how much support from lobbyists and PACs he has received during his entire political career. Not just his presidential campaign. This would be political payback for Obama's recent attacks on Hillary! for taking money from lobbyists, of course.

"The people in this stadium need to know who we're going to fight for," Obama said at Soldier Field. "The reason that I'm running for president is because of you, not because of folks who are writing big checks, and that's a clear message that has to be sent, I think, by every candidate."

But behind Obama's campaign rhetoric about taking on special interests lies a more complicated truth. A Globe review of Obama's campaign finance records shows that he collected hundreds of thousands of dollars from lobbyists and PACs as a state legislator in Illinois, a US senator, and a presidential aspirant.

In Obama's eight years in the Illinois Senate, from 1996 to 2004, almost two-thirds of the money he raised for his campaigns — $296,000 of $461,000 — came from PACs, corporate contributions, or unions, according to Illinois Board of Elections records. He tapped financial services firms, real estate developers, healthcare providers, oil companies, and many other corporate interests, the records show.

Obama's US Senate campaign committee, starting with his successful run in 2004, has collected $128,000 from lobbyists and $1.3 million from PACs, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonprofit organization that tracks money in politics. His $1.3 million from PACs represents 8 percent of what he has raised overall. Clinton's Senate committee, by comparison, has raised $3 million from PACs, 4 percent of her total amount raised, the group said.

Obama's poll numbers are beginning to slip rather badly. This won't help. The media is starting to turn on him.

If all that Democrats offer is either Hillary Clinton or Barrack Hussein Obama as a Presidential candidate in 2008, then Republicans do not have anything to worry about.

“The media is starting to turn on him”. LOL. Where do I begin? The media exaggerated claim that he would “invade” Pakistan. The media fabricating the nuclear option not on the table…oops almost did an AP…the media frabricating the nuclear option not being on the table against terrorists. The media highlighting the “black enough” garbage. The media claiming that the Hillary won all the debates..even when being booed.

Now that the story of Hillary discussing the Nuclear option has broken, do you think she will be accused of commiting a gaffe or even hypocrisy. What a joke! She will say anything to anybody to get elected. Has that not been made clear by her vote to authorize this war. Wake up people. If you are not going for Obama..great…then vote for someone other than Hillary.
