[...] The latest poll from the New York Times shows that the Democrats are making a seriously bad decision to unleash proxy attacks on General David Petraeus. The poll finds that the public trusts American commanders quite a lot more than they trust Congress or the President when it comes to making decisions about Iraq. The Democrats decision to let groups like MoveOn try character assassination on General Petraeus will backfire badly. The poll found that both Congress, whose approval rating now stands at its lowest level since Democrats took control from the Republicans last year, and Mr. Bush enter the debate with little public confidence in their ability to deal with Iraq. Only 5 percent of Americans — a strikingly low number for a sitting president’s handling of such a dominant issue — said they most trusted the Bush administration to resolve the war, the poll found. Asked to choose among the administration, Congress and military commanders, 21 percent said they would most trust Congress and 68 percent expressed most trust in military commanders. [...]

Sleaze and slime – two watchwords that describe the dems and many of their supporters. I have a great disgust for those who spend their time slamming our country, our president and our military! I deem these to be seditious, if not traitorous acts and should be punished! Too bad that the freedom that they have been granted by our constitution and safe-guarded by our military has become so twisted and warped by the loons!

One suggestion… for all those who think this is a bad country, GET THE HELL OUT!

Wow! Democrat politicians expect “outside groups” to do their dirty work. It is hard to find words to accurately describe what Democrats are doing, although “lazy”, “disgusting”, and “evil” accurately cover most of it.

Vietnam War opponents could at least claim that they could not know what would happen after the US abandoned southeast Asia to dictatorship and genocide. Iraq War opponents do not have even this microscopic fig leaf to cower behind.

I don’t think that there will be the level of outrage that you think there will be over this. It might make good fodder for political ads later by the Republicans to energize their base, however.

The sliming of people has become all too common with little backlash.
