I love the part about "challenging a Nobel Prize, Academy Award and Emmy Award winning former Vice President of United States". Let's take a look at this "Climate Expert", Al Gore. Gore is a man with very little, if any, scientific training. At most he has taken the required science courses he needed to graduate from high school and college. Before he got into politics, he was a reporter for cripe's sake! His home state of Tennessee listed him as one of the biggest polluters in the state for years. This is the guy we should look to in order to set worldwide scientific policy?

And Gore is just the tip of the iceberg. If you peel back the camoflage on most of the groups promoting the Global Warming mantra, you find non-scientists with a political agenda. Most real climate scientists that were involved to begin with have left the movement in disgust and requested that their names not be used anymore in conjunction with the theory. Most real climate scientists will tell you that we have no real idea how much Global Warming is affected by human beings and that the current level of scientific knowledge is insufficient to even explore the idea. Further, they will tell you that there is no real evidence that "Global Warming" is anything other than a natural climatological trend if it exists at all or even that it's a bad thing if it is real.

In the meantime, as Gaius pointed out, real damage can be done to the eco-system by people who have no idea of what their attempts at "managing" the environment will be. You can't seem to get it through the skulls of these eco-nuts that in the environment, to paraphrase one of Newton's Laws, every action has an unpredictable (to our current level of scientific knowledge) and possibly devastating (for some part of the eco-system) reaction. Many attempts to manage the environment have blown up in the faces of those who tried it.
