About that Religion of Tolerance(tm)...

No doubt most of you have heard of the Dread Teddy Bear of Blasphemy incident: a British teacher in Sudan charged under the Dark Ages, barbaric Sharia code of Islamic law with blasphemy for letting her Muslim grammar-school students name...

"No tolerance: Execution" - that one statement summarizes everything that is wrong with Islam. It is NOT a religion of peace. It is NOT a religion of tolerance. It is a religion that encourages, in fact urges, intolerant fanaticism and preaches that all infidels are, at best, second class citizens; at worst nothing more than sub-human animals to be eradicated.

In this case, talk about over-reaction? According to the stories I have read, she didn't even commit the offense. She asked her students what THEY would like to name the Teddy Bear and, being good little brain-washed Muslims they, of course, named it after the "prophet". They gave the bear the absolute "best" name they could think of. Not being a Muslim herself, did she even know that there was some kind of prohibition against naming an "animal" after the prophet because it might be considered an insult? I doubt it. After all, what is the single most common name in the Muslim world (and I believe in the world in general)? Mohammed, of course. Why would a non-Muslim even blink at giving the most common name in the world to a cherished toy?

Now the Sudanese mobs are calling for her to be shot!

Look on the bright side: Blasphemy hasn't been so popular since the Inquisition. Everybody's doing it. Have you got what it takes to be a world-class blasphemer? The Bayou's Gator has prepared a little pop quiz to help you judge your SQ (*Sacrilege Quotient). Maybe your readers would like to know!

I see in the article that the teacher's son (paraphrasing) hopes this does not cause the public to resent Islam. Apparently he still doesn't get it. What has happened to people's instinct for self-preservation?
