I think I’ll stick to our 47F and sunny here in Katy, TX. That’s the thing about snow; pretty if you don’t have to live in it.

Nice shots, the Sun somehow makes the scene inviting, I must remember that.
No Sun in NW NJ but we now have about 4 inches of ice pellets which cannot be plowed or blown or shoveled.
And they wonder why people own SUVs. Its the only thing that will move through this frozen concrete.

  3. Gaius says:

Yeah, it looks pretty, but it was close to zero this morning. Cold, cold weather.

The first picture actually shows the results of a temperature inversion. Look at the trapped brown haze with the above clear sky, probably wood smoke. Often caused by a low Sun angle (12/21 is the lowest), and calm winds. Hmm, high pressure moving down from Canada, I’m guessing perhaps Wisconsin, Dakotas or Canada.

Living in NE Ohio, I haven’t been a Browns fan since Art Modell kidnapped them to Baltimore …

But decided to tune into todays (clone) Browns and Buffalo match-up in Cleveland. A great site to see the blizzard playing conditions!!! Took me back to the Browns of the 1980s!

    8 – 0, Brownies!

Winter Wonderland. As long as you don’t have to go outside…..

  7. Steve Burri says:

Not much snow piled up alongside the roadway.

I can no longer throw snow along the entrance to my driveway as the existing pile is too high. I have to carry it and dump it where I can.

  8. Sylvia says:

A bit chilly out here and a touch of rain, sort of like a mild spring day. I miss the Montana winters! By the way, Gaius, your cute Christmas tree? Under water during high tide…

  9. Gaius says:

That’s ok, it’s made of seaweed.
