CNN Calls Iowa For Obama – Clinton Comes In Third

Second and third place are close, but CNN is calling Iowa for Obama by five points for Obama. Clinton trails Edwards by a percentage point. Huckabee takes the Republican caucus.

Mike Huckabee will be the Republican winner in Iowa, CNN projects.

With 76 percent of precincts reporting, Obama had the support of 36 percent of voters, compared to 31 percent for Edwards and 30 percent for Clinton.

With 41 percent of Republican precincts reporting, Huckabee had the support of 31 percent of voters, compared to 23 percent for Mitt Romney. Fred Thompson had 13 percent and John McCain had 12.

Rudy Giuliani, who has turned the focus of his campaign to the February 5 "Super Tuesday" primaries, trailed behind with 11 percent.

Huckabee's victory can be attributed to his overwhelming support among evangelical voters and women, according to CNN analysis of entrance polls.

Unlike the more complicated Democratic caucuses, the GOP results are tabulated by a single straw poll.

Clinton in third place: worst case scenario for her – and Mark Penn might want to get some resumes out.

Start trying to understand McCain. I like Thompson but he hasn’t 1/10 the drive of John McCain,
Jimbo, at Blackfive.com did a great job of dissecting immigration. Read it.

Yes sir, NortonPete, sir! Will start trying to understand McCain, sir!

Always get around to reading Jimbo, but now that you have ordered me to read it, I will do so much more attentively.

But a “please” would have been nice.

I hope this is the apogee of the Huckabee campaign. Hope Penn wasn’t hit by any flying lamps tonight. Clinton may have had her nose bloodied tonight, but it is still early in the fight.

Huckabee wins…Obama wins…two clueless, empty-headed isolationists out to make the world love us.

The sound that you now hear is the laughter of al Qaeda.

I regret the impolite grammar, I was to tired from all the junk on TV.
    But I meant well.

What strikes me is that on one side Iowians chose a candidate who voted to continue sucking out babies brains and on the other hand a candidate (a former pastor no less) who took $35,000 from an embryonic stem cell research company.

And yet they’ll all consider themselves righteous children of God because they cast their support for leaders who proclaim they love the poor just like Jesus does.

How can people believe the faithful when the faithful betray their faith?

The worst case scenario has occured in Iowa. The two worst possible candidates (of those who had any chance of winning) won. Yes, I do place Obama farther down the ladder than Clinton for two reasons – first, he is even more of a leftist than she is and second because he has even less experience than she has (quite a feat since she has very little real experience). As for Huckabee, he’s just as inexperienced on a national and international level as Obama and even his experience as a chief executive in Arkansas leaves much to be desired – he didn’t accomplish much there. I’m hoping the rest of the nation will settle on more viable candidates, especially the Republicans.

Oh, NortonPete, I was just funning. Seeing as I’m down with The Martian Death Flu™, and not allowed coffee or smokes, I’ve got to take my fun where I can find it. Likely, I should have whacked in a smileycon or a chuckle tag. Sorry if I came across as indignant, and thanks for pointing out Jimbo’s article. I don’t get by Blackfive as often as I’d like, but it’s always worth the time.

Uncle Pinky, I and my fellow martians have nothing to do with your death flu! You’ve been listening to too much negative campaigning – it’s got you saying negative things about others! It’s all rumors and propaganda I tell you! ;-)
