Happy Birthday To Me

I should probably pay more attention to things like this - as Jim Lynch does. Today is the Crabitat's second anniversary. Yes, I know that for some of you it seems like much, much longer. But yes, Blue Crab Boulevard turned two today. Thanks to everyone who stops by to visit my little slice of the blogosphere. Thanks for all the tips and encouragement. Thanks for helping make all this worthwhile.

I thought it appropriate to set the flaming penguins out.

Happy blogiversary. May there be many more.

I would say how old my place is, but to be honest, I don’t keep track of that.

I didn’t know that you started the Crabitat to honor my birthday….thanks, Gaius!

  • By Gaius, Sunday, 6 January , 2008 @ 6:19 pm

Thanks, Steve. QM, your parents showed inordinate common sense in picking such an auspicious date for your entry into the world. After all, it is also the date that George Washington married Martha Custis, Henry VIII married Anne of Cleves and Tonya Harding sent her bodyguard and husband to beat on Nancy Kerrigan.

Well, ok, the last two examples weren’t all that auspicious.

    Happy Blogoversary, Gaius!

Thanks, it’s kind of hard to believe it has flown by this fast.

Congratulations, Gaius. You do a fine job here. :)

(I mean, no one else has the courage to expose the Animal Uprising(tm).)

Happy Birthday Gaius, to the most intelligent blog in the universe.

A good idea, carried out well. Thanks.

Seems like I just congratulated you recently, commenting on another post. This fishing for congratulations is a little unseemly, you know. ;-)

    Congratulations anyway.

Congratulations. You have become one of my favorite stops while touring the blogosphere.

  • By Gaius, Sunday, 6 January , 2008 @ 10:08 pm

Heck, Lars. You folks keep the blog alive. And me on my toes.

  • By Sam L., Monday, 7 January , 2008 @ 8:29 am

    Congrats, and keep it coming.

    Keep the penguins, too!

  • By BadBob, Monday, 7 January , 2008 @ 8:35 am

Two years … seems like ten … but the penguins belong on the telly …

Thanks to everyone who stops by to visit my little slice of the blogosphere.

Thank you for having it here to stop by. It’s an unique slice, and always worth the visit. Matter of fact, you were the first blog that I put in my RSS reader, and far more esteemed than the news sources prepackaged there.

Congratulations and felicitations and if the next two years as half as fun as the last, they’ll be more fun than I have any right to expect.

Happy Blogoversary, Gaius! And may we all enjoy the next year as we watch what promises to be the most nerve-wracking election in modern times unfolds.

  • By Robbie, Monday, 7 January , 2008 @ 6:47 pm

    Congratulations.

Any ‘ol hack can do this for one year — but two years? That takes a special kind of manic lunacy!

Hope you’re around for many more years to come, as your’s is an important and refreshing voice on the day’s events.

  • By Gaius, Monday, 7 January , 2008 @ 7:31 pm

Manic lunacy pretty well wraps it up! Thanks, Robbie - thanks to all of you.

Best wishes on your blog’s second anniversary. I continue to marvel at how prolific you are at posting topics. And one more bit of reader feedback, I applaud your effort to keep profanity off the site. It is a nice touch of civility. There are about 700k words in the English language, there are better words to use than the four letter kind. It’s been a lot of fun and I will likely continue to be a thorn in your bottom until you ban me from the site.
