Bill Richardson Drops Out

The Associated Press has a very short breaking news update out that Bill Richardson has decided to drop out of contention for the Democratic nomination. Big surprise there, eh?

MERRIMACK, N.H. (AP) - New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson ended his campaign for the presidency Wednesday after twin fourth-place finishes that showed his impressive credentials could not compete with his rivals' star power.

He was almost the invisible man to the press.

UPDATE: MSNBC reports that the Richardson campaign is denying the AP report.

Well, in or out? Seems like he needs to step in front of a camera and clear it up. I’m thinking he’s hanging around just long enough to get the VP nod from Obama. General wisdom was that hee was looking to be HRC’s VP but after throwing his support to Obama in Iowa it looks like he’s switching camps but keeping the same ambition.

I have been more impressed with him than with the other Democratic candidates, but he has been a long shot since day one.

Well, he’s still Governor of one of the most beautiful states in the nation.
