Classy, Classy, Classy

Mitt Romney live at CPAC right now:

I disagree with Senator McCain on a number of issues, as you know. But I agree with him on doing whatever it takes to be successful in Iraq, on finding and executing Osama bin Laden, and on eliminating Al Qaeda and terror. If I fight on in my campaign, all the way to the convention, I would forestall the launch of a national campaign and make it more likely that Senator Clinton or Obama would win. And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign, be a part of aiding a surrender to terror.

This is not an easy decision for me. I hate to lose. My family, my friends and our supporters… many of you right here in this room… have given a great deal to get me where I have a shot at becoming President. If this were only about me, I would go on. But I entered this race because I love America, and because I love America, I feel I must now stand aside, for our party and for our country.

Full remarks are here – he's delivering them really well. He's a bit higher up the page at this moment. I want to watch the reaction to the section I excerpted.

    Damn!

    But you know what …

“If this were only about me, I would go on. But I entered this race because I love America, and because I love America, I feel I must now stand aside, for our party and for our country.”

You’d never hear a dem talk like this. (See: Bill … or Hillary … Clinton)

I disagree, Maggie, I have heard Dems talk like that – I just found them a LOT harder to believe. In this case, I actually believe him.

    Sounds gracious enough to me.

Mitt is a businessman who weighs the costs versus the gain in every endeavor.
Only people who never earned the money they spend seem oblivious to costs.
I do believe he loves this country and I believe one of the costs of continuing he considered was not just the dollar amount, but the downside to appearing to be doing it out of his own self interest.
    That is classy, classy, classy.

Someone remind me how my vote counts.

Clifto, move to New Jersey and vote democrat, you get interest.
From the njherald.com ( garbage news, don’t bother going there)

“What at first appeared to be a blip in the northwest corner of New Jersey’s political radar turned out to be a swarm on the entire screen.

Sussex County’s tally of 115 percent of registered Democrats voting in Tuesday’s primary election was actually topped by Burlington County, where more than 125 percent of registered Democrats voted. Neighboring Passaic County even topped full turnout with 102 percent, according to preliminary figures released Wednesday by the state Board of Elections.

    —————-
For many years I have driven through NJ on election day because I worked on Wall St. , and it was not a holiday. I never saw anyone voting in the Essex/Bergen countie, which supplied 50% of the entire states votes. When getting closer to home I would pass towns with cars jammed into local town halls all trying to vote.

Voting in NJ is so corrupt that it is a joke, they just manufacture votes from thin air in a small portion of NJ.

NJ learned it from my near neighbor, Richard Daley, and his pop. Durbin will win another six years in November, 317 million to six.
