Romney To Endorse McCain

Mitt Romney is expected to endorse John McCain today and will ask his delegates to also back the Arizona Senator.

CNN's Dana Bash reports that former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will endorse senator John McCain. The endorsement is expected to happen at a Boston event at 3:30 p.m. ET today.

Two sources familiar with the decision confirmed the news, and said Romney now wants the delegates he won during his campaign to back his former rival.

It would appear to be time for Huckabee to stand down his campaign.

Well, I will give McCain credit for getting his GOP opponents to endorse him.
Now, if he will have the sense to pick Condi as his Veep…..

Am I the only one who finds it suspicious after all the bad blood between the two?

    I certainly find it disgusting.

clifto - this is nothing at all out of the ordinary in politics. In general, the losing candidate backs the winning one once the primary contest is over.

If you recall, George HW Bush backed Reagan despite some very angry rhetoric between the two (and no, I doubt Romney will be McCain’s VP )

But, Romney would make a good choice as Veep. Reagan and Bush buried the hatchet in 1980 and even became good friends. It’s not out of the realm of possibility for lightning to strike again.
