Lunar Eclipse
I just went outside to see the lunar eclipse. It is pretty impressive with the moon well up in the sky. Unfortunately, it is also well below zero outside right now where I live, so the viewing pleasure was very brief. Go take a look if you have clear skies.

I saw it here. It was awesome. I can see why it terrified primitive man. When that last sliver of light went out, the moon was GONE. 10 degrees and a 20 mph wind here. Not a pleasant night to be out. Too bad it couldn’t have happened in July so a guy could have sat in a lawn chair with a beer and watched.

7 degrees, but just had to get a look at it a while ago. Insulated jumpsuit at the ready, I ventured out and saw it in near full eclipse. I presume that was Saturn on the left but I’m guessing.

BTW - The Navy is saying they got the satellite on the first try tonight!
Great job, United States Navy, Defense Department, anyone who worked on this system (right down to fetching coffee), and most especially to that grand lady … the USS Lake Erie!

Yep, saw the whole thing with a nice glass of wine in hand and a bowl of popcorn. It was a great event to witness—the slow eclipse and then a red moon. It was 8 degrees outside. Skylights are really great!

Now I feel bad - it was actually a little chilly here (48) so I had to put on a coat to go out and watch and I wasn’t happy about it.
