techinvestor, you can be an Obama apologist and "explainer" all you want. It doesn’t take away from the fact that Obama has not only been attending this man’s church for over 20 years, he has specifically called Wright his close friend and mentor. Does a person call someone with whom he strongly disagrees a mentor? I don’t think so. He can say he strongly disagrees with things Wright has said all he wants – a person does not attend the church of someone with whom he strongly disagrees for over 20 years. This is not just an occassional sermon by Wright. Wright has a longory of using his pulpit to rail against America, Jews and Whites frequently and vociferously and, presumably, as a frequent attendee of the church, Obama must have sat through many of them – probably with that "thoughtful" expression he effects and nodding his head as we’ve seen him do many times on TV. This is not guilt by association, it is guilt by strong personal choice on the part of Obama. His close personal friend is a hater of America, an anti-semite who praises people like Farakhan, and a total racist (yes, black people can be racists) and he is quite vocal and adament about it!

Guilt by association won’t work…Obama doesn’t agree with everything his pastor has said and he has made that very clear. There are some controversial pastors who have endorsed McCain too.
Taylor Marsh, a radio talk-show host who is a strong Hillary Clinton supporter, points to a reason why Wright’s sermons shouldn’t be used against Obama. “For perspective, I certainly do not agree with everything my pastors have said on Sunday,” Marsh writes on her blog. “I also know too many ‘cafeteria’ Catholics, some in my own family, who pick and choose from the doctrines of their faith.”
