Barack Obama’s new campaign plane is nothing short of grand. Well, for the candidate that is.
Obama’s section of the plane rivals that of any first class. Recently the front cabin of the Boeing 757 was retrofitted to install four individual chairs that resemble La-Z-Boys. They are free-standing and made of plush leather with pockets on the sides. There is also a booth which seats four for a meeting or a meal.
His chair has his name and campaign logo embroidered on the back top — “Obama ‘08” on one line and “President” underneath. To one side is a small table stacked with newspapers ready for the candidate’s arrival. The table of the booth is always covered in snacks and cheese and is where Obama spends most of his time during flights meeting with staff and sitting for the occasional interview.
Obama is not even formally the party nominee yet. President? This ostentatious display of ego is being paid for by the thousands of internet donors the Obama campaign likes to brag about. Got hope?

It’s one thing to have a private jet… if you can afford it… it’s another thing to ‘pretend’ that O-force one is Air force one… this guy needs a serious lesson in humility!

More and more I believe that the ‘chosen one’ is the th ird part of the unholdy triumvirate – the other loonies are Harry and Nancy. That should give everyone a good reason to be careful who they vote for. Neither Nancy nor Harry have accomplished anything worthwhile – oh, I forgot all those post offices and special days that they named!!! They are deliberately standing firm in the face of the voice of the people… Do we want four years of this incredible mediocrity?
Pray for the US, everyone… that’s what it’s going to take!
I agree with Bill, what’s the problem with doing things like emulating the Presidential Seal?. There are plenty of substantive things to hit The Obamessiah with. For instance his energy plan doesn’t address supply at all; it is simply a transfer of wealth program. Which is, in fact, what every program he supports does. He’s not trying to fix health care…he just wants someone else to pay for it. Of course, every complaint against Barry O is racist………….
The problem is Obama seems to equate "being presidential" with surrounding himself with the trappings of the presidency…which displays little but a hubris unfitting for the office. The last truly imperial president we had was Nixon…and look how well that turned out.

Another thing that has been noted is that, during the primaries, the plane the Obamessiah leases from from Northwest Airlines displayed an American Flag on the tail. However, since he became the presumptive nominee (many would say presumptive president) he had the plane exterior re-designed, as is customary for the party nominee in both major parties. However, Barrie’s exterior re-design included removal of the American Flag from the plane’s exterior.
