It has some very real parallels - enough to make it eerily like history repeating itself. The question then becomes will the West again act as Chamberlain did at the time. Only time will tell.   As for the piece at HuffnPuff, if Republicans were anywhere near as Machiavellian as the left wing nut roots give them credit for there would be no Democratic Majority in Congress and the elections would be a mere formality for the Republican candidate. Unfortunately, the fact that the Obamessiah is till ahead in most polls makes their conspiracy theories look pretty silly.
