40 Million Reasons For Worry

Very nearly 40 million people watched Governor Sarah Palin’s speech at the the Republican National Convention. That number is virtually identical to the number of people who watched Obama’s acceptance speech. more than half of viewers were women.

An audience of 37.2 million people watched Palin on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox News Channel and MSNBC, Nielsen Media Research said Thursday. PBS estimated its audience at 3.9 million, based on a less reliable sample of several big cities. Nielsen does not count the audience for C-SPAN, which also showed the speech.

Last week, Nielsen said 38.4 million people watched Obama speak at a Denver stadium on the six commercial networks, along with BET, TV One, Univision and Telemundo – four networks that didn’t cover Palin’s speech. PBS added an estimated 4 million to that total.

Nearly 2 million more women were watching Palin than men, Nielsen said.

This is giving the Obama campaign nightmares, I suspect. In fact, he has swallowed his pride and begged Hillary Clinton to campaign for him.

Now Gov Palin is someone I believe when she says she’ll take on the corrupt Washington Beltway as opposed to McCain’s history of back-door dealings with La Raza.

Perhaps Gov Palin will go after McCain’s La Raza corruption first after which she can deal with all his Corrupt Congressional friends McCain reached across the aisle in non-partisian unity.

Syn, heh. I’ve told people I think Obama won’t be the only major-party nominee for president who gets a surprise from Sarah Palin.

Dunno if I’d go that far but it is worth at least a “heh.”

The latest smear campaign is a youtube video of Gov. Palin speaking at a Wasilla Assembly of God church. Frankly the references to God remind me of Ronaldus Magnus. Lefty bloggers refer to it as proof that the ignorant cling to their God and Guns. My are these people tone deaf.

There is a metric that isn’t getting the ink it should.

Assuming I can get the arithmetic right.

The Democratic candidate for President had an audience of 37.2 million souls, or 3.72 million per network carrying his speech, on the average.

Sarah Palin, the Republican candite for the _Vice_ Presidency got 40 million watching, or about 6.7 million per network carrying her, on the average.
