Obama Changes His Ayers Story
I’m sure you remember the old version (1.0) of the Obama/Ayers story: “Who? Ayers? Oh, yeah. He lives in my neighborhood, I think. I couldn’t pick him out of a crowd or anything.”
Yeah, I thought that was pretty unconvincing too.
Obviously, camp Obama have found it lacking as well, because meet version 2.0. From Powerline:
Sarah Palin’s calling out of Barack Obama over the Bill Ayers connection has finally caused some mainstream outlets to report the story (albeit generally in misleading fashion) and has compelled the Obama campaign to respond. That response is surprising, to say the least: Obama now claims that he didn’t know about Bill Ayers’ terrorist past through all the years when he worked with Ayers in Chicago!

But it is inconceivable that Barack Obama knew Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn well enough to kick off his first political campaign in their living room, but didn’t know that Ayers and Dohrn were Communists who led the Weatherman faction of SDS, urged young people to “kill your parents,” carried out approximately 30 bombings, including New York City’s police headquarters, the Capitol and the Pentagon, celebrated the Charles Manson murders, spent years living underground to avoid criminal prosecution, and continued to express their lifelong hatred for the United States in books, magazine articles, and public speeches. This is rather like a person claiming that he had worked closely with Arnold Schwarzenegger for years, but had no idea that he was once a bodybuilder and movie actor. Ayers’ and Dohrn’s radical past is their only claim to fame.
Why do I get the feeling we are going to get yet another “heartfelt” declaration that the avowed terrorist Bill Ayers “isn’t the Bill Ayers I know.”
Of course that’s a funny thing to say when you always claimed you didn’t really know him at all.
Version 3.0 can’t be all that far away.

Forget the major issues. If Obama really is this oblivious to everything that’s going on around him, what’s he going to do in the White House, admire himself in a mirror?

Deja Vu! This is exactrly the path he took with Wright. First he claimed he was never in church when Wright was on one of his rants and never heard him say anything bad (current Ayers version). Next he said he didn’t agree with Wright and didn’t believe what Wright was spouting but he could no more repudiate him than he could his granny (next Ayers version - I don’t agree with his statements or actions and those are not things I believe but he’s still a supporter). Then he denounced Wright and his beliefs (4th Ayers version). We may not have enough time before the election to get through all of his different versions.

Gayle…I dont get it either. Obama makes me long for Hillary and I never would have thought that was even possible.
And hey martian, aren’t you happy to know that working closely with domestic terrorists now qualifies as being “moderate”?

“If he’s that oblivious…”
He isn’t, and it’s time we got past saying “If” and making the charge, boldly and without apology, that the man is simply lying to hide his past. The pattern has been repeated now enough times that we have every reasonable right to say it.
And if he’s actively attempting to hide his past, we have every reason in the universe to know what it is he’s so eager to hide.

I’m waiting for Obama to tell us all about the time he came home one day, and found out his granny, a typical white person, spouting anti-Marxist bigotry after having been frightened by a gang of “Community Organizers” hanging around down at the local bus stop.
That was when Obama first realized he was destined to become a community organizer himself. That way he could eventually run for President and get even with all the granny-bigots in America. It also accounts for Obama’s obsession with using the bus to get rid of inconvenient persons.
