“A Rather Benign, Doughy-Looking….”

…..Jackbooted thug.

The “sin” the “doughy-looking” fellow was punishing? Supporting John McCain.

On a Monday afternoon, September 15, 2008, three McCain volunteers were holding campaign signs and distributing leaflets on a busy corner of 51st Street and Lexington Avenue. As they were peacefully talking to each other, they were approached by a man who, in the words of the victim, provided the impression of “a rather benign, doughy-looking guy — not a person I would have expected to assault me.”

He rushed towards them, grabbed a McCain sign off a volunteer’s hands, and tore it apart. That didn’t seem enough.

This is how the victim describes it:

I said, “What are you doing? You can’t do that!” And he was red in the face screaming, “You people are ridiculous!” And I said, “Yeah, whatever, but you can’t do that.”
So I reached for the sign that he ripped up, and he grabbed another sign, broke it, and ripped it to shreds. And when I said, “You can’t do that,” he took the stick from the sign and started beating me on the head with it. He broke the skin on my head, he scratched my wrist, and almost broke my glasses, and then he left.

Did the Obama campaign condone this, encourage it directly? Of course not. But the fact that a supporter of Obama – as he rather obviously was – felt emboldened to take these actions speaks volumes about the mindset of the true believers. New York – and New York City in particular – will be an Obama lock. There is no contest there at all, it is “safe” for the Democrat party candidate.

Yet this doughy-looking hooligan felt he had to attack – and had the right to attack in Obama’s name – a smallish woman who dared to question the Messiah.

How’s that hopey-changey vibe working for you now?

Never ask The One a question. Never support anyone but The One.

Or Else.

So…when can we expect the breathless MSM accounts about dangerous and growing progressive rage?

Say that again…when what freezes over?

    “Or Else.”

It’s the ‘or else’ that has inpired even me to send a big check to McCain-Palin campaign.

Behold the harbinger of an Obama presidency. Rather than scruffy ruffians attacking individual expressions of political opinion, we will be witness to the broad powers of the State brought down on anyone so impertinent as to express a dissenting word.

Say goodbye to your 1st Amendment protections, the erosion began in earnest with “Politically Correct” limits on free speech, and will soon expand to prohibitions on criticism of Political leaders and by extension, their policies. It’s going to be a different country folks, one you won’t recognize.

I would say Obama did encourage these types of actions when he asked his supporters (in Nevada I believe) ‘To get in their faces”.
If this is not egging them on, I have a bridge to sell.

I’m just waiting for Yuri to leave a comment about how this is somehow the McCain supporter’s fault.

Hey Sous, they were being “deliberately provocative” simply by being, thereby creating an “existential crisis” for any Obama supporters who could see them. It was either beat them of suffer the crushing loss of self-esteem that comes from knowing other people do not think as they do.

And somehow this also probably affected their desire for “diversity” as well.

See, it’s a complex world they live in, that can only be made simple by McCain supporters NOT being.
