"the harsh reality that Obama simply can not possibly deliver all that he promised. "

If he is capable of delivering even half of what he promised I'll be very surprised. The level of political inertia not to mention cultural inertia in the ranks of the federal government will likely slow him down considerably. Unfortunately for him, this will bring a major negative reaction from all of those Obama supporters who want their change NOW! We have seen this with the Iraq war - if the outcome is going to take more than a month or two, the American public has no patience for it - not anymore. We have become a nation of demanders who want resutls TODAY - not some intangible time in the future. It could be very interesting to watch.

I read a lot of right wing blogs that were utterly certain Obama would not be elected. How did that turn out? So, I am less than certain Congress will overreach. Obama brought on Rahm Emmanuel to keep the Democrats in Congress under his control to prevent just that, not Republicans. He can ignore Republicans as they are effectively non-existent to the media or the voters.. If Obama is as wiley as he appears to be he knows very well what he can get away with and will keep Americans happy best he can till he gets a second term to go full tilt left.. then watch out..
